Shouldn't my first PV be my last travel APV?

Ok, to make a long story short I'll just say a friend let me try his cig-alike and I didn't like it; I kept smoking. Then another friend let me try his eGo. I've been thinking about vaping ( or is it a double p? like vapping?) ever since and started lurking here doing a little research. I've come to a few conclusions, that may change, and need some answers to make a few decisions.
After I realized my friend's eGo didn't have replaceable batteries and learning a little bit about VV I realized I wanted a VV replaceable battery mod. So then I thought: why not get get a really good small VV replaceable battery mod and let my first PV be a VV replaceable battery mod in a mini style for an on-the-go vape that I'll never need to replace?

So that brings me to several questions:

1. Basically does replacing batteries really save money or break even or worse? Would I be better off buying 2 Vision Spinners or 6 18350 rechargeable batteries as far as life span of the battery is concerned?
2. How long do those batteries last? I know, I know. It's asking about something that can change. But I haven't vaped yet. Do they last a day? Do they last 10 years? I'm just looking for an estimate.

3. Is the ProVari mini 2.5's consistent vape worth the $ vs. other mini VV replaceable battery mods? What else should I look at? Is the ProVari's consistent vape just because of the high drain batteries?

4. I've been thinking about getting a bottom coil glassomizer like the PT2 or Davide. Are there any others that I should be aware of?
5. I hear some people seeming to say that some mini versions of their glassomizers seem better than their large counterparts. Is this true or have I just been reading too much between the lines?
6. How long does a glassomizer last? How often do I need to change the wick? (or do I just clean it?) I know, I know. Its asking about something that can change. But I haven't vaped yet. Do they last a day? Do they last 10 years? I'm just looking for an estimate.

7. Is the replaceable coil on a BCC an atomizer?
8. With VV shouldn't we use high voltage atomizers? Are all PT2s, Davides, etc. are high voltage atomizers?
9. Does the same voltage affect the flavor or something with a different resistance atomizer? Because of VV, can't I get like 90% of the same thing with close atomizers by just changing the volts; moving the watts and ohms where I want?

10. Id really appreciate a few names of some good hardware and e-juice retailers.

Sorry for the wall of text. Thanks in advance.

Since you brought them up, I am going to focus on numbers 3 and 4.
YES, the Provari is worth it! I have a mini V2 that is beat to snot! Still works like a champ! It's even been in for repair, under warranty, juice got on the board an ruined it. Fixed and shipped back! It's scared from drops, I've taken it to local vape shops and thrown it at the floor! Yes, and yes again! It is all that!
The Davide is a clearomizer style, I've yet to find a clearo I like! Muted or burnt flavors, just not a fan at all! If you want a bottom feed, get a bottom feed! Get a Vmod (poor man) or a REO (the real deal) and put a good (Ikenvape i06) atomizer on it and enjoy!
You seem intelligent and are asking good questions, so I'm trying to help save you the hassle. Research these two, plenty of information, and be a LOT happier in the future!

Not to be rude, but did you even read my post? I was asking about a VV replaceable battery mod and one of the things you pointed me to was a fixed voltage non-replaceable battery.

HaHa you are so right

I did read it, people running around where I am distracted me so when I re-focused my attention
I looked at the number of posts and re read the
last line -- "Id really appreciate a few names of some good hardware and e-juice retailers"
found a few links I thought would help you out and closed out...

its a bummer getting old

Answers in red and bear in mind these are my opinions only. And please understand that I am a "n00b" to the forums, but I read A LOT and tend to absorb a lot of info. For the last month and a half I have thrown myself fully into vaping, and have spent hours upon hours scouring these forums and the internet in general for vaping information. I may very well be wrong, and I hope that some of the more experienced forum members will correct any unintentional errors I've made.

1. Basically does replacing batteries really save money or break even or worse? Would I be better off buying 2 Vision Spinners or 6 18350 rechargeable batteries as far as life span of the battery is concerned?

Assuming equal charge/discharge cycles, even use, and similar environmental conditions, the six 18350's will give you a TOTAL of more service cycles than the two Vision Spinners. Now, how long they last you between charges is another issue. I have two EGO C-Twists (1100 maH) that will last me through a day (give or take) before needing a charge. I also use stacked 18350's in my mod, and that gives me about two days of vaping (give or take) before I need a charge.

2. How long do those batteries last? I know, I know. It's asking about something that can change. But I haven't vaped yet. Do they last a day? Do they last 10 years? I'm just looking for an estimate.

Again, that depends on how hard you use them, how you charge them, and the operating environment. But let's say the "average" is 400 charge/discharge cycles, so if you've got two batteries you use in rotation, and you charge one every day, you're looking at about two years.

3. Is the ProVari mini 2.5's consistent vape worth the $ vs. other mini VV replaceable battery mods? What else should I look at? Is the ProVari's consistent vape just because of the high drain batteries?

I do not own a ProVari. But it IS well-made, highly thought of, and the company takes care of its customers after the sale. Generally speaking "consistent" vape is not only due to the type of batteries we use, it's also due to the accuracy and abilities of the regulation circuit of the device. The same high-drain IMR's put into a poorly designed device, at the same settings, will NOT deliver the same vape.

4. I've been thinking about getting a bottom coil glassomizer like the PT2 or Davide. Are there any others that I should be aware of?

Protank II. I have both the PTII and the Davide. At this time I'm not aware of others, except for the clones on FastTech (and IIRC the Davide is a clone of the Kanger). For the price, I'd stick with the ProTank.

5. I hear some people seeming to say that some mini versions of their glassomizers seem better than their large counterparts. Is this true or have I just been reading too much between the lines?

I prefer the full version, but that's subjective. I think I'm biased against the mini's because I like to fill my tank and not have to worry about refilling for a good long while.

6. How long does a glassomizer last? How often do I need to change the wick? (or do I just clean it?) I know, I know. Its asking about something that can change. But I haven't vaped yet. Do they last a day? Do they last 10 years? I'm just looking for an estimate.
The glassomizer itself will last forever if cared for. If you're talking about the coil, that depends on the juice, the voltage you run it at, and how often you run it dry (A dry coil will burn out faster than a "wet" coil because the e-liquid acts to cool the coil as it's vaporized). But eventually you'll at the very least need to clean the coil. It will get gunked up, and much faster with some of the thicker/darker e-liquids.

7. Is the replaceable coil on a BCC an atomizer?
From a technical perspective, yes, because it's the heat of the coil that atomizes the e-liquid. The coil is common to many devices, delivery and storage methods change from type to type.

8. With VV shouldn't we use high voltage atomizers? Are all PT2s, Davides, etc. are high voltage atomizers?

To the first part, that's subjective depending on your taste. Some people enjoy a vape on a Protank at 3.3 volts. Some are only happy when they're running 4.1 volts on their sub-ohm RBA. As to the second part, no, but I'd call it more "high power" than "high voltage" (at least from the vaping perspective). You're again limited by the delivery method (the wick). Too much voltage (power) vaporizes the e-liquid faster than the wick can deliver it, leading to a harsh/burned taste and subsequent coil failure.

9. Does the same voltage affect the flavor or something with a different resistance atomizer? Because of VV, can't I get like 90% of the same thing with close atomizers by just changing the volts; moving the watts and ohms where I want?

Absolutely, and you're right talking about watts. Watts is power at the coil. Varying the resistance with a fixed voltage (at least from an electrical standpoint) has the same end result as varying voltage with a fixed resistance. It's all just math.

But I think in vaping, we're combining physics and art to make something that pleases the individual. 10 watts on a 1 ohm coil isn't going to taste the same to me as 10 watts on a 2.5 ohm coil, even though the math says it should.

10. Id really appreciate a few names of some good hardware and e-juice retailers.

I'd hate to point you in a direction and have you be disappointed, so I'll just say that I've been sticking with the vendors mentioned in these forums. So far I've tried about 7 different juice vendors and about the same for hardware vendors, and have been very pleased with them all.

Sorry for the wall of text. Thanks in advance.

And a wall back at you.

You may be in the market for a stick battery (after reviewing the above). Here's my take:

Stick Batteries, known as eGo Style Batteries (entry level, backup, out and about, stealth, primary):

Trusted Vendors shown, but NOT selected based on pricing, you'll still need to shop around. You will need device specific battery chargers (which often come in kits) for these devices. Also, kits often provide two batteries allowing for simultaneous vaping while charging of the backup. Each of the eGo style batteries below have both 510 and eGo thread connections. As such, they are compatible with most toppers, including most Kanger products. Additionally, each of these devices has at least variable voltage, which allows you to adjust and regulate the battery output voltage, providing customizable vapor production, temperature, throat hit, and finding the "sweet spot" for your juices to suit your individual vaping preferences:

1. Innokin iTaste 3.0 vv/vw, usb passthrough, ohms reader, etc. - https://ivape.net/index.php/iTaste-VV-3.0-Variable-Wattage-Device-Pearl-Chrome.html (variable power, LCD display, +/- buttons, Usb passthrough, 3.3 - 5.0 volts, 6.0 - 11.0 watts, 800mAh)
2. SLB KGO VV - http://www.hoosierecig.com/Mega-KGO-VV-1200mAh-3-6v-_p_441.html (LCD display, +/- buttons, Usb passthrough, 3.0 - 6.0 volts, 650 - 1200mAh)
3. Vision Spinner - Vision Spinner VV eGo Battery 1300mAh (3.3 - 4.8 volts, 1300mAh)
4. Joyetech Twist - eGo Twist 1000 Mah Battery in Black (3.2 - 4.8 volts, 650 - 1000mAh)
5. Smoktech Winder - Smok eGo Winder 900mAh Variable Volt Battery (3.2 - 4.8 volts, 900 - 1100mAh)

Best Starter Combo kit out there, imho, provides two batteries, i.e., the twist and/or spinner, and two toppers, i.e., the eVod and/or MT3s, among others: http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm.

Recommend one eVod and one MT3s topper with one Spinner and one Twist to start. This way you get four different products with the kit and allowing you to experience four different setups, as you figure out your preferences and what works best for you. Probably most popular option would be two Spinners and two evods. BTW, you can spend less and get a fixed voltage battery, but you'll have much less vape flexibility and it won't be long before you'll want to upgrade to variable voltage, more than likely, and the difference initially is only a few dollars per battery anyway.

If I were going to do this again, I would buy two iTaste 3.0's. IVape has these on sale for a 30% discount:

iTaste VV 3.0 - Variable Wattage Device - Pearl Chrome | Variable Voltage | MODS | iVAPE

The iTaste replaced all my other stick batteries and while I don't use them very often anymore, they are the ultimate backup. My Out and About gear is a Provari Mini now, with a carto tank. My backup tank is the Protank II. I DIY my juice.

Good luck, happy shopping, best to you, power up and vape on!

IMHO, you need a VV device like Provari (or a VV REO)
plus a nice mechanical mod
like a metal mechanical reo.

I say these 2 brands as after playing around with at least 50 devices, if I had the money over again and only bought 2 things, those were the best vapes I ever had.

On mechanical reo you don't even NEED VV.....the vape is very very good.

I owned a provari and it was great, too. I just don't like tube mods myself. But you cannot go wrong with those 2 mods, made in the usa and both have huge following here and that is for a reason. :)
