Last night i vape a tank until it´s empty and keap fire until dry the cotton and no brown cotton.to test if resistance lock for TC is actually working just do what DJLSB vape did with his non-probing tests.
Repeated firing of a dry cotton wick and see if it burns.
Put in fresh cotton and fire it repeatedly, several second bursts with only a second or 2 between at a medium temp like 420F and see if it burns the cotton.Last night i vape a tank until it´s empty and keap fire until dry the cotton and no brown cotton.
I am vaping on a mini serpent 15 watts 420F 60PG 40VG MTL
I did a test using a .48ohm ti1 coil 400F and on first hit 10s pull and the cotton was litle burn and the watt meter didn´t go below 1.4w.Put in fresh cotton and fire it repeatedly, several second bursts with only a second or 2 between at a medium temp like 420F and see if it burns the cotton.
Mine also seems to respond the opposite of what Daniel's tests show. My problem at first was that I couldn't get a warm enough vape in tc. I had to turn the temperature compensate up to 75 to get the kind of vape I like, and can't produce a dry hit on a tank of mine that is notorious for dry hits. Odd thing is, I have the same exact chip that Daniel was doing the tests with v1.7, but I have a different code on the battery door than he does.on V2.0 the tc behavior is the oposite from DJLSB review, temperature protection after preheat and resistance sems to me is lock after read
Hold down the fire button while closing the battery door. The chip name and version will then show on the screen. How do I find out which firmware I have please?

The only flaw I see with that is the pre-heat function. If the preheat is overriding temp control for whatever time you have put in then each time you hit the fire button its going to provide that wattage on each press. If that's how it works. I'm just guessing here because there is no real information about how it truly works. Maybe if you turn the time all the way down, idk.to test if resistance lock for TC is actually working just do what DJLSB vape did with his non-probing tests.

have you adjust the temperature deviation only with temperature compensation? The only flaw I see with that is the pre-heat function. However, I did try that and at 20 watts of continuously pressing the fire button over and over I managed to burn the cotton. But, I don't vape that way at all either.
I didn't even think about that. Temp compensate was at 75 on all my tests. I'll have to try that. Thanks for the idea.have you adjust the temperature deviation only with temperature compensation?
I leave temperature compensation at 0 and increase the TFR 0.08 and use vtc mini for comparing temp limit with the same atomizerI didn't even think about that. Temp compensate was at 75 on all my tests. I'll have to try that. Thanks for the idea.
At first I was leaving temp compensate at 0 and using tfr from steam engine. At 480F I was getting poor vapor production, but when I started upping the compensate I started getting the warm hits and nice clouds.I leave temperature compensation at 0 and increase the TFR 0.08 and use vtc mini for comparing temp limit with the same atomizer
soo it is working fine, i have the same problem with my genesis but now with temp. control its perfect no dry hits.At first I was leaving temp compensate at 0 and using tfr from steam engine. I've been vaping the rba that I always got dry hits with in tc since I worked all of that out and it's been working fine. That's why all of this confuses me. I can vape in tc with that tank all day, no dry hits, but the min I switch over to power mode the fight begins. I even wicked it in a way that I know produces dry hits on purpose as a test, and nothing. Very confusing. But, hey I'll take it.
It would appear that way. Maybe some of us got lucky? I definitely wouldn't recommend this mod to anyone wanting a good tc device just based on this thread alone though.soo it is working fine, i have the same problem with my genesis but now with temp. control its perfect no dry hits.
I dont know if with high wattage it perform as good, normaly i dont go higher than 20w
overall its a good device with alot of setings to play around
