Sigelei 213 owners thread

(sigh) I have an email from sigelei's warranty support stating that they hoped "some or all the issues could be resolved by a firmware update..."

so it would appear that the confusion that many vendors and reviewers had over the ability to update the device spread to sigelei's support staff.

Mine is now mostly working with a large temperature offset and TFR mode. I don't know about the rest of you but this likely will be my last sigelei.

Anyone have the battery go CRAZY and have a top reading of 0.33v and a bottom one reading 7.03??? These are paired batteries that have run through my 213 4 or 5 times. I just switched out with another pair and the same reading. Of course it will not fire with that reading.

That's a new one to me.

Happened to me twice now. The only thing I can do is pull the batteries and switch sides with them...that worked once, but just now I had to take a rough side of a sponge and rub the contacts in the door...even though they look perfect, put the batteries back and it worked again. Strange

Fortunately I always have two mods with me. The RX200, the Snow Wolf, or even the Sig 75 are always in my bag as backup.

Anyone know how accurate the ohm meters in the coil master v2 kits are? The reason I ask is because someone else mentioned that their 213 is consistently reading the ohms at .01 - .02 lower than their other devices, but my 213 is consistently reading the ohms at .01 higher than my ohm meter.

The ohm meter gives me a steady .51 ohms while the 213 reads between .525 - .527

Had a similar issue on my cuboid, was able to solve it by cleaning contacts on battery door.

They're all fairly accurate. Normaly a difference of 0.01 would be nothing but because ss has such a small tcr curve it makes a huge difference when using ss tc. All my joytech mods consistently read 0.01 higher than my sigelei/laisimo mods. It could be that the sigelei is completely accurate and the joytech ones aren't, but that extra 0.01 from the joytech just gives me a better vape.

Have you tried tfr m1 default setting? Matches steam engines tfr numbers for 316L exactly. Works pretty well too.

Or alternatively you could (up+down+fire) go in to the temperature compensate menu and dial up a value to compensate for the lame vape the mod gives. I find that +40-80 makes a world of difference. My 213 now vapes like my YiHi and Joytech mods.

I've been using 70 in the temp compensate.

I have, but I seem to get a better vape from the tcr setting. The tfr does function pretty well though.

Yep same thing with mine, I did the same and swapped them around and then was ok, next time I took them out and did the same thing, got it working again now, and not risked taking the batteries out again.

Sucks so many problems, as I really would like the new blue or burnt orange one they are coming out with, but not going to risk it if they don't fix the problems.

I really like the mod, but spent a few anxious hours getting clear about why the thing wouldn't work in TCR mode for SS430 and Nifethal52. Really quite unhappy with Sigelei's response - explanation is nice, but what about compensation? Fortunately I understand enough about TC to use the TFR values and can use my preferred wires (Lars - the guy behind Steam Engine - is going to heaven!), but there is enough bad taste in my mouth to avoid Sigelei products in the future.

If Sigelei wanted to make a more "accurate" Temp Control experience they should first start off with a 510 connector that reads ohms accurately. And all this hoopla about the preheat being set too high therefore glowing the coils in TC is a pathetic excuse like that twit vapin heathen tried to say that's why his coil glowed, whatever, if it was really regulating it would NEVER glow. Set a DNA200 to 200w and check if the coil glows, I think not.
I know people love this mod, I did too, but dang how much crap can a company dump on you before you say enough is enough.

Not that crazy but enough for the mod to put out a voltage difference warning. I believe when it happened one was reading 4.3 the other was 3.3.

I took out the batteries, swapped their positions, and its fine ever since. Batteries were new LG HG2s.

NOTHING should "override" Temp Control, ever. If that's the case it shouldn't even be an option in TC mode. Another glitch as far as I can tell.

Indeed, in temp control it should be "preheat temperature".
