Just a quick fix for the 8W "Bobblehead" problem when you use a softer spring. This eliminates about 90% of the switch wobble, and its easy to do. Just get two 5/8 inch Nylon washers - most have 3/8 in centers, which are perfect. you will have to turn the outer diameter down by about 1mm - I just chucked mine into a Dremel & held it against a piece of coarse sandpaper for a few seconds to reduce the diameter until it dropped into the cup. The washers stabilize the center post & keep it from cocking sideways - does not effect the switch throw or pressure.

8W_WobbleFix.jpg 8W_WobbleFix3.jpg 8W_WobbleFix4.jpg

Two disadvantages - you have to push straight up from the center or it binds - but you get used to that in a minute or so of use - it's now completely natural, and number two - you are blocking the vent holes (the two holes in the base of the switch). If you have a battery melt-down, that might cause a problem, but there's probably enough air space around the washer to take care of that. If you are really paranoid, just drill a few holes in the washers & you'll be good.

Easy-Peasy...... Have fun.

I was thinking the exact same thing - cept I ain't got washers that would fit.
...always a compromise. nothing too bad though.

Next trip to the hardware store, I'll look for some.

My switch didn't have any glue - and the spring is not stiff at all.
It's not a feather weight, but it's can't be the same spring others were describing.
The throw is not terribly long either.

But of course I couldn't leave well enough alone and had to try...
I decided to shove a magnet on the switch and now it be stuck. lol.
Gonna try to freeze it out - or just have to break the magnet.

If the magnet is stuck where I think it is (where the switch spring was originally) you should be able to tap it out through the holes in the switch housing (the vent holes). Just tap lightly & alternate between the two holes & it should pop right out.

Good luck....

LMAO. Sadly no. I stuffed it in the button side.
It started on , but as soon as it started getting tight I went to pull it off and was on there. I tried a number of ways to get it off - last of which was to use another magnet - but wound up pushing it father down. I was about to just break the magnet with a spring loaded punch - as I was pushing down it went all the way down. So I thought I'd give the opposing magnets another try - well, ..., the magnet flipped on me and stuck itself down on the post as well. So now there are 2 magnets stuck on the button. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
stuckmag1.jpg

So I made the most of it and found a smaller and lighter spring - its perfectly sized to fit inside the magnet.

It's a very light easy throw. Fires perfectly. But it is more wobbly than before.
Although I am used to that with the Shipwreck - actually, I think that was its spare spring. Ha.

I guess you could try freezing the button (at least overnight) and hope the brass constricts more than the magnet. Another possibility would be a strong electromagnet to yank it out (or blow it out if the fields are reversed).

As a last resort - find a hole saw of the right diameter (just the diameter of the magnets) & a drill press & drill the magnet out. It will destroy the magnets, but if done right, the button won't be effected. If you don't have a drill stand or press, most machine shops can do that stuff for you, but unless you know someone there, it might be cheaper to just buy another switch (Vaportekusa usually has them for around $10).

Good luck

Hello. I've got the following in exchange:

This is my first mech, and I don't like it very much.

I don't even know its number, whether it's 6 or 7.
I have a problem with the fire button, when I should press really hard to make it work, so it's uncomfortable after some time. And even then it works sometimes, but not always, and fires so-so.
Could somebody, please, suggest me the way to fix it?
How, for example, to pull the fire button out, with pliers?

Thanks

On another note - I just received emails that the Sigelei "Bagua" (the chi-you looking thing) I pre-ordered from VaporTek just shipped.
I ordered one in plain stainless (no markings) and one in brass (no markings).
Woohoo - more toys to play with!

Just bought mine from 101 vape this morning- didn't need it but for under $20 why not?

Good price too. Just as good as Fast Tech. Nice to see that 101Vape have the no-logo version too.

The ones from Vaportek that were pre-ordered are supposed to be coming with 18350 and 18650 tubes.
They are about $14 more - not bad with an extra tube. Should be here tomorrow :)

Thanks man.
I tried freezing it. No dice.
I decided to just break the magnets using a spring loaded center punch.
One punch broke both magnets.
I put the stock spring back in and found a tiny oring to shorten the throw.
Anything bigger doesn't really work.

Ok so my first impression was a huge disappointment in the Sigelei "Bagua".
I posted a thread on the danger of this device.
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ua-chi-you-8-diagrams-danger-please-read.html
This one was deisgned by compete idiots.

I'm trying to look past this major fault.
But adjustable airflow control for my bottom air fed attys or carto tanks was in high hopes for this device.
Very saddened that this is not the case. And disgusted that a major manufacturer would make a device that you
can close off the battery vent holes. I think I'm going to drill a couple holes in the bottom deck of the switch.

It does have airflow channels cut in the top of the head which allows for enough airflow for bottom air fed devices to work.

These are lightweight. Especially for brass and stainless steel - the materials on the top cap, the rings and button are all thin.

The top cap is hollowed out underneath for the battery vent holes (really can't get over that).
It has, what looks like the same double adjustable pins like the 8W - but the top 510 center pin does not move.
I have tried very hard to get it to move and scarred both trying to get it to budge. That means attys may not sit flush. LAME.
The battery adjustment pin does move but they designed the tube too long. With a standard 18650 no pcb battery, that pin has to be adjusted almost all the way out to make contact with the battery. Unscrewing the head with that stupid battery air vent ring makes it even more frustrating. The pins seem too be gold plated (whoopty doo).

The switch. The throw is surprisingly (relatively) light and short. No scrunchy noises. It works quite well.
But if you look up at the center post there, you will see it has a rounded, smooth nut. ...?!
Do these people not learn anything? You can barely get a grip on this little thing.
Lucky there isn't any glue on them. But if that nut is not tight enough, guess what?
It will back off and the switch will come loose and you will unscrew the whole thing when trying to lock your device.
Good luck trying to re-secure that little smooth head nut.
The lock ring is standard threaded. Much like other lock rings it may get "stuck" in the unlocked or locked position. Of course if it sticks in the unlocked position, as mine has more times than I cant count in the past couple hours of usage, and you go to lock it, you will just unscrew the whole switch body. The switch body comes loose very easily and the lock ring sticks very easily.
It does stand unlocked even in 18650 with an oddy on it. But it does have a little wobble.

I would love it if Sigelei sent me a redesigned head with and actual adjustable air controller.
Along with working double adjustable 510/battery pins.
And a larger knurled nut for the switch post.
Oh, and a slightly shorter tube.
And and 18500 tube.

That's it for now.
I think.

Some more pics.

Brass and SS with 18650 and 18350 tubes (they don't make an 18500 tube - lame).

I drilled 2 vent holes in the bottom deck of the button.
Got a wee bit of a walk into the delrin (a little worse on the other switch - hence no picture lol) - that's what I get for rushing.
Well, at least I can leave that vent hole ring closed now and not worry about it.

I tried the two tone out for a minute - not a fan on this one for some reason.

Wish I had a brass nut to replace that slippery little sucker on the switch post.

I got mine today also (brass one). I'm afraid I have to agree with you on every point....and then some. After almost two months of waiting for this pig - I'm supremely disappointed. They said the reason for the delay was to make this MOD superior to others....If this is the result, I'd hate to see the first ones....

That "adjustable" center pin is a total farce. I tried all kinds of ways to unscrew it - No joy. I finally cut a slot in it, which allowed me to start it turning, only to discover that its NOT TREADED! The only way to "adjust" it is to take a punch and tap it down until you can get an atty flush - stone-hammer & a bone-wrench engineering.

The tubes (both of them) are cut at least 1/16 to 1/8 inch too long. Even with the top screw almost on its last threads, the batteries are loose and rattle.. The screw itself is very poorly threaded, and loose...just waiting to pop out if you accidentally drop it (and probably short out the top of the battery). Some of the other Sigeleis have had a few problems, but they were generally easily corrected. This one has some MAJOR design flaws that will take far-too much trouble to correct than its worth.....IMHO.

I think I'm done with Sigelei..... there are other manufacturers now that are making far-better MODs than this POS....and many for better prices. I've seen some nicely made examples by H-cigar & EH-PRO that are orders-of-magnitude better designed & built. I have a Chi-You clone (basically the same MOD) coming from FastTech (stainless version) which has had great reviews so far. I have a gut feeling it will blow this thing away.

Very disappointing to say the least.:-x:

Sorry to hear about your luck, guys. I'm gonna work this thing over when it comes in the mail and not feel an ounce of guilt whatsoever. Will report back middle of next week with a (hopefully) improved mod or a pile of scrap. Luckily I enjoy a challenge and maybe even can help you fellas out.
We live, we learn.

I also found out these new Brass Sigeleis do have some sort of a weird coating on them.
I have no idea what it is, but it does make them magnetic.
3 new brass tubes I have, all magnetic.
I started to "brush" one of them with a scotchbrite pad and the finish started turning white(ish) like a lacquer coating.
Kept going and noticed more of a gold, shiny. Taking too long so I dremelled it. All the coating came off and I finished brushing it.
Now it's no longer magnetic.
Strange.
If you wanna check to see if yours has a coating, check it with a magnet.
Don't try to brush it unless you're prepared for some sanding.
The coating really does help to stave off those finger prints, grease and discoloration.

No idea how I missed that.
The tip looks some much like it's threaded, and on top of that Sigeleis are usually threaded.
Thanks for the info!
Done!
Punch and a hammer - base to hammer the pin out through; little round file; remove some delrin - and now she's floating.
Flush mount.
