Sigelei Zmax Changes?

I haven't been able to dig up any info on different revisions of the Zmax but I noticed that, for example, my center post does not have the hole in it like the one in Pbusardo's review and he did mention that sigelei was working on some changes to that at the time of the review.

Are there any more detailed changes made to the Zmax through it's production life?

I'm going to say this because I assume that you don't know. But maybe you do so here it goes.

The sigelei Zmax is made be Sigelei and the original Zmax is made by Smoktech. The Smoktech Zmax is the non-OLED screen and has a screen that is similar to the Provari.

Smoktech came out with the Zmax first, and then came out with a revised one called V2. The difference between the V1 and V2 is that the V2 has the eighth menu screen so you can switch between RMS and Mean. Again...maybe you know all this.

Sigelei took the same internals that Smoktech uses and put in an OLED screen. All the ZMax clones (they should be called clones since Sigelei is just copying another company) that Sigelei makes are the V2 with the eighth menu.

As far as that hole is concerned. My Sigelei Zmax didn't come with one. It a solid center post. So I don't know what the use of that hole was. Airflow? Anyways, I have good airflow and I'm glad that hole isn't there. As a matter of fact that hole kinda concerned me when I bought mine, not knowing if it would have a hole or not. I've had mods break all because of the center post was not stable.

Your last sentence asks about Zmax changes through it's production life. Well thats kind of a work around question. Since the company who makes it is China based, the answer would be yes and no. If you are vendor then you could ask for whatever type of specs you want on your Sigelei Zmax or whatever other ecig you were ordering from China.

Here is a link to the Sigelei company. ZMAX_SIGELEI Electronic Cigarette -

When Pbusardo mentioned in the video about Sigelei making some changes...that was the change. No More Hole in the center post.

As for standard changes other than that hole. Maybe someone else can chime in.

So does the very latest Sigelei (with no hole on the centre post) have the pips on the slant (a la Provari), or on the flat part under the slant? Even the pictures on Sigelei's site for the "v2" seem mixed up. The picture at the top has the pips under the slant, but you can't see the hole. The rest of the pictures seem to be a different model (see the one half way down the page especially - centre hole, pips on the slant). I'm waiting for a co-op buy from UK Vapers and Sigelei assured us that they were the "new" version with no hole and slightly improved screen.

I traded my reo for the Sigelei Zmax just for the night. Very impressive device to say the least. I sold my ProVari a couple days ago and bought a kick for my Silver bullet. I'm going to order one of these tonight. Better than the ProVari in my opinion. It's like I won the lottery really. Sold my vari for 150 and I got a kick, sleeve, and Zmax for a hair less then that. Winner winner chicken dinner.

Really? WOW!

I don't own (or tried) a Provari, and I have the Sigmax in SS but right now I'm using my Evic.

The Sigmax is really picky at low ohms and the Evic is even less picky at low ohms. I guess seeing all the reviews for the Provari and then seeing this comment...makes me wonder...?

From comments read, the Provari is top notch. So is it the OLED screen you're attracted to?

I can guess that the Sigmax is not as accurate as the Provari, regardless of a better screen.

Working great with my lr 357s. Also, I don't go strictly by numbers when I vape. More so taste and what not. Also, I like to tinker. Could be part of it.

Right on Man. Whatever works for you.

This is why I have multiple mods (but not a Provari yet), because one setup may work better on a different mod.
So true. If I didn't recently become the proud father of twins I would have many more. lol. Kids are expensive.

I just received my Satin Stainless Steel Segeli ZMAX from Welcome to VariTube.com - A Better Alternative to Smoking There must of been yet another revision. The dimples on the top and bottom are on the flat surface and not on the slant at the top. What really seems to have changed is the 510 connector. Mine don't have the hole in the middle like PB's video review. Also it looks different than the pics I have seen where the hole is not there. The connection on the 510 looks like stainless. The center post looks like it has the rubber/clear silicone insulator. This connection seems to not be as deep as before. Now this is where it get's different. There is a piece of brass that is press fit over the 510 connection and is @ the base of the drip well. This appears to have external Ego threading. I am thinking the Krangers may now fit the mod. I will have to pick some up and try them out.

A SS Sigelei recently passed through my hands on the way to a friend. Here are the differences I noticed on a quick inspection compared to my black aluminum.

1. The pips in the top of the mod were on the flat surface instead of the slanted.
2. The top of the 510 connector had 4 gaps for air. My black one only has 2.
3. The firing button was moved up a couple mm's on the SS. It now lines up perfect with the button you can see inside.
4. 5 holes in the caps for venting vs 1 on my black alum.
5. 510 contact pin seems to be higher. I couldn't screw my Vivi's on very far at all before they made contact. This left a larger gap between Vivi and Zmax body.
6. Screen was level and flush up against the clear cover. My black Zmax's is slanted down towards the top.
7. Weight but that's obvious considering one is SS and the other aluminum.

Just got mine today, and yes the Kanger T3's will screw on it and work

Wicked! thanks for the info on the T3's

oops I was removing the protective cover from the oLED screen and the screens cover came off with it. When it came off it sounded like peeling tape from something. I quickly pressed it back in and it seems to be staying there. I should of looked if it was indeed a adhesive tape or not holding it in place. I fail! As I popped it back in too quickly to get a good look.
