I'm not sure about actual beauty rings that can be bought, but on my flat-top V3 which isn't *really* flat, I use one of the kayfun rings in place of the regular top cap; it doesn't screw in or anything, it just sits there and the tank holds it in place -- but, it's just a smidge (a tiny smidge!) too tall, so if the tank you're using won't let you extend the 510 screw a little, then it won't work. My Tobeco KFL+ tanks let me extend that screw without loosening the coil block, so it works great for me.

Thanks Andria

I've been reading your posts in this huuuuuge thread and saw that you were looking for the same thing as me

I'm glad you have sorted your issues :)

I have emailed segelie...if I get a result I will be happy just to have the flat top...I guess the round top only looks good with smaller tanks :-(

I saw that Mini Deal at 23 and a coupon to bring it down to 20. I think that is an aluminum body? I prefer the SS.

Not sure, Paul. I just went back to the site from which I ordered, and it's no longer the "Deal of the Day" I didn't even notice when I first looked earlier today. The V3 is for sure SS tho

Lol, that's just a little too big for me. :) but would give you very accurate stacked tests.

I'm waiting for the 18350 to catch up with advances in the larger batteries. I'm about to order a set of the new 18350 purple efest. But would to see them take the next step with a little more mah and amp limit. The red efest seem to be holding up fine though. There under a much lower load in stacked config. A full day is good for me.

Don't degrade the sigelie by mixing it with a vamo. Lol

I'm not sure the 18350 will ever get much of an upgrade since it's not used much in laptops etc and I guess that's the big draw for manufacturers.

Meanwhile, head over to Madvapes. They claim to have a new (?) battery chemistry in that includes the 18350 size. An (unmentionable) person wrote a rave review on his (unmentionable) blog saying it did last longer - much longer. I asked about it somewhere on ECF and didn't get much response "AW or notta" ya' know. Anyways, I don't know enough about batteries to make an independent call.

Yes, Sigelei :) I'm looking at a pair of EFEST (red) 18350 (800maH) to get me started. Also looking at the Nitecore Intelligent Charger - I4.

Any opinions on the Mini? (Other than it only holds one 18350)

The Zmax aren't picky on whether it's button or flat tops. I have both EFest and AW's and I swear I get apx 20% more time out of AW's starting around the 3 month mark I noticed the difference. The AW's are holding up better and they've been in constant rotation. I'm not sure if that makes much difference to many.

I missed that too. I would have added to my "collection" for $20. Cheaper and better than a spinner at that price.

hi guys

im sure its been covered here but there are too many pages to go through lol

i have a zmax v3 non flat top

it looks a little messy, so i saw on toddsreviews he had a beauty ring (it was provari)

anyone know where i can get one from that fits without having to modify?

i dont care what brand it is, as long as it fits :)

All the Provari beauty rings fit my zmax mini and I have the slant top.
I think Provape has one for $9 with air channels cut into it.
If you look at early Psbuardo reviews of Zmax, he's upset Siegeli "cloned" Provari.
Yup. That's how this started. "The Po'r man's Provari".
PS. For those without extensions, I think the twins fit. Tatroe also has extensions.

Siegeli's a fool if they drop Zmax.

Well speaking of AW batteries... I made the unpleasant discovery this week that mine are actually counterfeit, thanks to that thread about AW still not making flat-tops. I am not best pleased with this info, as you can imagine, but at least I have some Efests I can use in my mech, since I have no farkin clue what batteries these REALLY are under the counterfeit-AW skin. I checked out the list of authorized resellers and discovered 2 that I order from pretty regularly, desertvapes and sweet-vapes, so I can add a battery to my order here and there so I'll have some REAL AWs. Even though I vape hi-ohm and lo-watts, I'd still feel better about AWs in the mech, given that it's a mech. I could probably use "k-mart specials" in the regulateds (sigelei and vamo)... but I won't try it. :D Once I get some *actual* AWs and a couple more Efests, I'll probably stick these counterfeits in a drawer, since I really have no idea what they are, could be ICRs for all I know, so they'll go to the "absolute emergencies ONLY" stash. With enough good batteries, that emergency status may never arise.

Awww...sorry about the AW's. That is a burn. I usually order from Desert Vapes just because they ship fastest and when I order batteries, I'm usually desperate. RTD vapor I think has a lower price and genuine. It's just that anything midwest and east takes over a week to get here, even priority. My EFest I got in a coop and I'm not complaining. They are definatley holding their own. I think it's the Candlepower forum where you can order direct from Mr. AW himself. No fakes there. There's actually a couple of batteries that excede AW but they are European and shipping costs are through the roof. I was feeling desperate for better 18350's.

I *loooooooooove* desertvapes; their shipping is sometimes flat out amazing -- when I ordered my sigelei from them, I ordered it on a saturday about 4pm... and got it Monday! I didn't have batteries for it yet! I think it's because of the time diff, since AZ doesn't have daylight savings; it was only about 1pm to them, and they're one of the rare birds that work and ship on Saturdays. And I'm enthralled with their driptips, they have so many, so many that I lust for! :D And I do think I'll try out that Igo-L since I like the Igo-S so well; the smaller chamber and tighter draw are right up my alley, and the Igo-L is only 17mm, so it's gotta be on the small side too. Their price on that is excellent, $6.95 I think.

But I've been ordering a lot of blueberry muffin from sweet-vapes, and I think I'm going to start getting all my blueberry muffin there, instead of getting some from hard rock vapor, because HRV is 50/50 but at sweet-vapes I can specify what percentages I want, to get high PG. Thought I might try their blueberry cheesecake too, I like their blueberry muffin so well. so that's another place I order from a lot, and can add a battery.

It excites me that I might be able to tidy up my mod

OK so please bare with me here as this is my first mod, I have been using eGo up till now, and so the z3 is all I have known and seen close up in the flesh...

1- Is the zmax mini the same size thread diameter as the z3?

2- What is a slant top?

3- Will any provari ring on the market, that I can get my hands on in the UK fit my round top?

4- do I need to remove the round top to put the ring on?

Sorry for all the questions but I have absolutely no idea what I need to look for, or what I'm talking about when it comes to mods! lol Complete rookie lol

I'm done buying AW, not because of quality or performance but because its just not possible to be 100% sure you won't get a fake one, especially on this side of the pond. My first two batteries ever were bought from two different reputable dealers and guess what... one is "flat-top" and the other is almost 99% certainty a fake too. Both come out at spec but I can detect that they can't hold 4.2V for as long as my efest purple ones. I paid $12 for each when I can have efest purple at the official dealers for like $6-$7... I'm done.

Really? And what brand are they?

I will be ordering AW 18490s in few days unless something better catches my eye. RTD has a great reputation as a genuine AW dealer. V3 and V5 with 18490 or 18500 is perfect for my use. I find 18350 too short on capacity and 18650 too long on length for pocket carrying.

I have used Efest red 18500 V1 with great results but don't mind looking for somthing better.

I'd have to hunt down the info again because it wasn't practical on THIS side of the pond but I was super envious. Both were small outfits, one went through a very large well-known UK vapers website selling direct. Those were tops. I think that's were I saw the "cotton pickers' battery charger". VERY knowledgable site for general info. I really wanted those batteries.

The person that turned me on to those was from a battery website that's in german which I have ended up translating a lot of times for info. It's fairly well known because I keep running into references to it. Of course I can't pronounce that one, just that the site ends with .de (Lol). But that's where I saw the charts that proved AW weren't "the best" for your side of the pond and which brands were better. AW's are the best for here. The differences weren't huge. I can get a bit obessive at times (usually)..

I'm hoping this jogs some reference for you because I'm pretty sure I don't have any notes or bookmarks since I finally gave as a lost cause, so it'll take me awhile to remember where I got those leads. I don't know if I can find it again (a thread on FT with NO search).

Don't forget you can order from "the man", Mr. AW himself and he's in Hong Kong. I believe his thread is on Candlepower or someone there would know.

There are 2 versions; one is the slant top like Provari's have and the other is a flat top. The beauty rings turn a slant top into a flat top which looks better with a number of atomizers and rba's, etc. Beauty rings aren't needed with flat tops.

3- Will any provari ring on the market, that I can get my hands on in the UK fit my round top?
Even Provari beauty rings by OEM's were not always compatable with Provari.

4- do I need to remove the round top to put the ring on?

No need to apologize for asking questions.

Do you have a picture of what you bought? I'm not sure the Z3 was made with a slant top version. I can be wrong.

It's probably best to verify what you have first vs. getting into information overload.

Yeah, there are "round-top" V3s; they look more like Smok Zmax's, with vertical grooves vs. circumferential rings.
