I have a "glitch" on my Zmax V5, sometimes when I hit the button Zmax displays for a second before showing the "normal" display, this goes on until I change or remove the battery. Then goes to "normal", the big question is: How can I do this willingly?
Try this...

-remove the battery for at least five seconds
-replace the battery. make sure to not press the fire button while replacing the battery
-the screen should show the word "sigelei" and the screen will go blank a few seconds later
-use five rapid clicks to start the system. The word "sigelei" will appear again and go out again followed by the words "System:ON". You now have a normal start up and the sigelei should work normally.

There may be other causes for the resistance display showing prior to firing. We can pursue those after doing a normal start-up.

Now, if you like the way the Sigelei behaves when fired in the video...

-remove the battery for at least 5 seconds.
-hold down the fire button while installing the battery. Keep holding down the fire button until these two displays flash back and forth: SI V2.0a and your battery voltage
-after releasing the fire button the word Sigelei appears and goes out
-now hit the fire button rapidly five times to start the system
-the Sigelei will now fire the same way as shown in your video.

SI V2.0a is the firmware version that always runs on Sigelei Zmax V5.

I don't have a clue about how to display current first in the firmware display mode. I'm not that adventurous in my Sigelei settings. I run V5 in normal VW operating mode with RMS selected showing watts, puffs and battery gauge when fired. All settings are stored and there is nothing to reset after a battery change. I rarely need to look at current or atomizer resistance but that is easy enough to do at Menu Item #5.

I shopped batteries yesterday. I've been rotating four red Efest IMR 18500 V1s (flat tops) 1100mAh since April of 2013. One of the four gave up the ghost several weeks ago after about 285 charge cycles. After more than 300 charge cycles the other three are showing some diminished capacity. I was about to drop the hammer on a set of four of the new and improved AW IMR 18490 1200 mAH batteries at RTD. These batts also have improved max continuous discharge rate of 18A. RTD wants $9.62 apiece for them. Then I found the red Efest 18500s at 101 Vape. I purchased one of my V3s from them and like the store. The Efests were $5.99 apiece with $1.99 shipping in-state. I went for four of the Efests again. The deciding factors were cost, my experience with Efest and 101 Vape and how I use my rigs. I vape at 7 watts or less at less than 2.0 amps. The red Efest 18500s are at least 6 and maybe 8 amp batteries as far as I can tell so they suit my demands well.

Got my mom a nice zmax mini kit in blue from movapes for $25 for Christmas, they also have zmax 3's and 5's for $25(just the apv' s) in case anyone is interested. Should be easier teaching her how to use...still using my zmax3:)
Wow! That's a killer price for slant top V3 and V5.

Here is the V5.

Good to hear from you baseballmom! That's a great gift idea. I haven't seen many slant tops for sale during the past several months. Flat tops are everywhere. It may be a V3/V5 slant top close-out but regardless, these are very fine rigs for the $$.

The Sigelei top caps should be interchangeable so this could be a good back-up choice for a flat top owner.

I was just looking at a photo of slant top and flat top Sigelei V3/V5. If the top cap, adjusting tube and battery cap from a flat top was swapped out to a slant top the result would look like a flat top without the three center tube rings.

Thanks for passing that along... those are definitely great prices!

I have to admit however that the two images they provide for the V5 are a bit confusing. The main image appears to be a slant top V3 since it has a clear button instead of a metal button. The 2nd image shows the USB charger being used on what appears to be a flat top V3, not a slant top. Anyone thinking about buying the V5 from them might want to consider giving them a call just to confirm exactly what they're getting (ie: V5, slant top, flat top, USB adapter, etc.).

That second photo of the V5 at Movapes shows a big battery icon on the OLED display. That icon only appears with a V5 operating in charger mode at Menu Item #9. So, maybe Movapes has V5s with clear plastic buttons or maybe they are using chopped photos. We have seen many Sigelei vendors showing photos that don't match the actual product being sold because they are out of date or they borrowed the photos from somewhere else. And we have seen a lot of variations in Sigelei button choices.

I agree with fairmana. If you want to know for sure what a vendor is offering a call or email to the vendor is worth the time.

Sigelei V5 offers the accessory charging module (metal) that fits into the 510 connector. It only works with V5, not V3. Sigelei doesn't supply the USB cord. The USB jack on the charger accessory is standard USB 2.0. I use a standard USB/mini USB cord to charge my Samsung Galaxy from the Sigelei.

It says the mini includes batteries / charger / protank = great kit for someone starting out. They didn't mention what came with the V3 and V5. I'd assume body only but the V5 showed it with something (I couldn't make it out). I wish I liked telescopics more.
The V3 and V5 at Movapes are body only which should include the charger accessory with V5. Sigelei Mini is 18350 only. The V3 and V5 are the same length as the Mini with 18350. The V3 and V5 tube is absolutely rigid when sized down for 18350. That extra metal part that comes with V5 is the cell phone charger accessory that screws into the 510 connection for charging a cell phone.

I noticed another discrepancy in the V5 product description at Movapes. The product description lists length of 106mm. By my measurement V3 and V5 are 100mm long in 18350 mode with the short battery cap (same as the Mini) and 105mm sized with 18350 with the tall battery cap. The first photo of the V5 shows a tall battery cap and the second photo shows a short battery cap. Movapes doesn't say if you get both battery caps or if they offer a single cap, they don't say which one.

My first V3 came with a single tall battery cap. My second V3 and the V5 came with both (15mm and 10mm) battery caps.

I already have 2 Sigelei zmax mini's that came with extensions and I used to only use them in 18350 mode but after reading some comments here, I tried stacking batteries and I love them even more! I have panic attacks thinking of them ever dying. That's one of the reasons I'm tempted to click the buy button.

I wonder if my current ss extensions are compatable with the aluminum zmax mini's?

I have never seen a slant top look so good. I always thought I like the flat top better but the slant is sharp looking.
