The Vamo buttons are designed differently and have a distinct shape, so I'm pretty sure they wouldn't work in the Zmax.

At the risk of going a bit off topic, I also have a Vamo V3 that went bad. I bought it from fasttech back in 2013 right after I bought my 1st generation Zmax V3 so I'd have a backup (I was still feeling my way around vaping back then so I wasn't sure which APV I'd like more). I had previously replaced the switch in it (also went bad) but it hardly got used, so I was surprised it stopped working all of a sudden (says SHORT on the display at all times now). I was planning on buying a new circuit board for it eventually, but I haven't been in a rush to do it (might give it to my brother eventually). Rick, do you mind if I ask you were you bought that Vamo V5 board? I'm guessing you probably wouldn't recommend that same outfit to anyone since the screen came tilted. I was hoping to avoid that if possible.

Hey y'all. I've been wondering lately... is anyone still selling any of the Sig Zmax's? All I see anymore are the high-watt Sigs, or the smok Zmax's. My v3 is nearly a year old now, zero problems ever, so I'm thinking it might be good to have another, it's so well made.

I don't mind at all, I also don't mind the crooked screen. It doesn't look to bad. I will get you the info on the vamo board tomorrow. I'm not near my computer tonight. I found a few other boards you might be interested in also. A V10 and others. I'll post them here tomorrow morning. Hope that's ok.

Hi Andrea , last I checked Movapes had the v3 flattop kit for 25$ , I bought 5 ( a personal problem :))

Excellent price, but those are the "round" tops. They look too much like Smok Zmax's to me. :D Actually I wish the "flat" top was a lot flatter!

I dunno, I might go for one of their box mods. If there's one thing I've learned from computers, it's that you have to "keep up" on the hardware, or pretty soon the whole industry just leaves you in the dust. :D My mom refuses to understand why her PC, purchased in 2002, is no longer viable, and can't be secured -- "it's a perfectly good computer!" She doesn't get that to a PC, 13 yrs is like a geologic age. :D The box mod of theirs I like the best, visually, is that one with the double "S" type design down the flat sides, but I think it's something ungodly like 100w. I think I'd prefer a 20-30 watt, considering that so far I've been perfectly happy with <15w.

Andria, I have the Sigelei 100w plus that you're referring to. I got it because my Zmax was so well built I trust the Sigelei brand. I know 100 watts is an awful lot of power, but you don't have to use it just because it's there. I never go over 20 watts with it. I love it for the quality and the battery life using 2 batteries. I highly recommend it. I love the look of those lines, too. :)

Argh, you're killing me! I love that design, but I was checking the specs on it, and I just don't think it would suit me at all -- it only goes down to 10w, and there are sometimes occasions when I vape lower than that; plus, it's pretty pricey, even at FT it's $80. Something like this -> https://www.fasttech.com/products/3032/10011165/2145601 is more my speed -- and budget!

And since I've had my 6-wk initiation to FT, I'll know not to get my drawers in a knot waiting for it -- it arrives when it arrives. :D I do think this is likely the one I'll end up getting; I love the black, and there are a lot of great black RDAs and RTAs.

I know sigelie.. but i dont care for the size of the 100/150.. If they would have taken the TMax and made it dual 18650 or 18350 and upgraded chip to 50w they would have the market cornered.. TMAX Silver_TMAX_vv/vw mod_SIGELEI Electronic Cigarette -

Maybe you would like the istick 50w. If you want dual batteries. Tiny for having dual bats and regulates down, I've got one.

I have an old Tmax. Unbelievably, it's much heavier than the 100w plus even with no batteries in it and no topper attached! It uses the exact same board and screen as the Zmax. I never used mine much because it just never seemed to be able to put out the same power as my Zmax.

I first moved up to a Sigelei 20 watt, but soon discovered that I prefer a box mod, so I went for the 100w plus. I guess I'm basically a Sigelei gal. :)

I think I'm a Sigelei gal too; I don't think I'd venture to one of the Cloupors, seen so many "catching fire" threads about those -- might be rare, but I don't think I've ever heard of any sigelei catching fire. :D

The iStick50 or even the iStick30 might be a good choice; really have ZERO need for high wattage, but the iStick20 won't run low enough for me, though I've been having to run my Vamo in "AVG" mode lately, which I think is similar to "MEAN," because the dang thing is so underpowered, even at 15w it's not as powered-up as all my other mods at 10w. I even built a coil for it that's right at the cut-off point for a Vamo, right at 1.3Ω, but at 15w it's fairly underwhelming, so I switched it to "AVG" mode, where 9.5w works just fine to get my usual vape.

But I really like the look of those Sig Mini 30w boxes.

And alas, I think I'm finally seeing some drop-off in performance with my vv3's; even at 11w and fully-charged they don't seem as powerful as my Sigelei at 10w, and that did not used to be the case, they used to perform almost identically at identical settings. So I'm probably going to need to replace at least 2 of the 3 pretty soon, the 2 that are just-over and just-under a year, respectively. With the number of good toppers I have and the number of juices I like to keep handy to vape, I think I could replace both of them with just one new mod. Which will probably be a box, this time, or possibly another mech for my vapocalpyse prep -- maybe one of those Katos (definitely a clone Kato!).

I have the istick 20w and it runs all my low power stuff fine, even old single coil evods. Although now I'd get the improved 30w, I'd replace my ego's with them. Very handy and hold a charge forever - which is the main value I see in them. I have a 50w on the way. From what I can tell so far, the longevity appears to be holding up fine. Care needs to be taken with the micro usb but that's nothing new.

I've also looked at the cloupor and it seems the heating issue was due to the chip in the original batches - and it's probably a good idea not to recharge most of them through micro usb or use them as a pass through. That's not an issue isolated to cloupor. I don't know if sigelei 30w is similar - that's a hard one to find in stock at a good price. Maybe it's time for another SJ "friends and family" unmentionable???

I'm not sure if you saw the comment that the Mo'Vapes V3 is a flat top and it includes protank (full kit) even though it's not mentioned in the ad. Hard to go wrong. I passed those kits out as Christmas presents this year to help get some of my friends going. I figured if nothing else, I was stocking up on spare parts. I still sorta wish there was someone into collecting and repairing these or stocking old parts for them (including Vamo's).

If your ok with 15w, there are a heck of a lot of great deals on provari's in the classies right now. Those never die and I don't see provape pulling support for them, of course I don't know what's going to happn if that WA 95% tax goes through. But that's still the longest lived, dependable, built like a tank regulated mod around imo.

Why would your regulated mods be loosing power? I thought power depended on batteries, not the electronics .... ???
