Anyone have a kayfun that sits flush(minus the small gap)? My Kayfun Lite Plus sits a good 4-5mm above the post with the center pin screwed all the way down.

I ave a variety of attys that sit above the device. 5mm is a lot. Does your pin protrude a great distance from the bottom of the kayfun? Not sure if some models are adjustable. I just checked a Kay-fun and the threads just started at 4mm! The depth down to the firing pin is only 3mm. Are you sure it is that large? Anyway the beauty ring can be backed off to meet the atty. It will go even higher that the 510 connection. Would love to see some pictures!

All hard measurements used here were made with calipers.

With both of my V3s the distance between the top of the 510 B- threaded connector and the B+ center pin is 4mm. The top of the 510 connector is 1mm higher than the top of the removable top cap (or the top of the non-removable top cap on 1st Gen V3s).

The threaded portion of 510 cartos is 4mm which appears to be the same with the Kayfun. The center pin of 510 cartos is a soft 1mm higher than the threaded portion and will compress to allow electrical contact and good fit.

On IBTanked carto tanks the base of the tank normally fits flush with the base of the threaded section of 510 cartos. This leaves a maximum 2mm gap between the base of the tank and the top of the V3 top cap. I reduce this distance by half by insetting the non-flanged cartos 1mm into the carto tank. This can not be done with flanged cartos. The result is a total gap of about 1mm between the base of an IBTanked carto tank and the top of the V3 top cap.

I agree with with VapieDan. If the Kayfun 510 center connector height is adjustable you should be able to reduce the distance between the V3 top cap and the base of the Kayfun to a little more than 1mm. I don't know if that Kayfun center pin is adjustable or not.

Damn dude. Awesome to see your still doing good work in this thread. You and baditude are the reasons I have 4 Ibtanked setups lol.

I dont know if you can tell in the second pic of the link i posted but it is adjustable but only to just flush with the bottom of the threads. It doesnt sink in like some others unfortunately. The first pic i posted is pretty much screwed down all the way plus a bit. It's alright. Raising the beauty ring works. I'm just being a brat about aesthetics.

I have a gg oddy clone. Luckily its almost infinately adjustable so I sit flush on the 510. You best bet is to see if you can modify the center pin on the kayfun in some way. Since you'll have center pin fully tight you can always back it out for another device. Good luck.

How is the build on the gg? As easy as a Kayfun?

I've noticed people complaining about the gap left on this mod when certain tanks are connected. Thought I would share what I've been using to sort it out. I use it on my evic as well to protect from over tightening my clearos.

Its an ego cover for dct tanks. I adjust it so that my tanks screw on tight against it thus getting rid of the gap!

Using IBTanked with a non-flanged carto I only get a 1mm gap. I could adjust the Sigelei top cap up to cover this but that reduces airflow to the carto. I'm happy with a little gap.

When I loosen the beauty ring to meet the tank it leaves a small ring groove on the unit. I don't find that unattractive either. I do like snugging up Kayfuns due the weight on the unit. A little more support for the 510 connection.

I have thought about cutting straight slots into the removable top cap. That would allow me snug up the cap to the carto tank base. I could do a neat job of it with a cutting wheel or a small file because the cap is solid stainless steel. I decided to keep the 1mm gap instead. When I've dropped the Sigelei with a glass tank the worst damage has been a bent carto 510 base which is easily replaced. Without a gap and the carto to absorb impact I might be seeing broken glass tubes.

You cursed me. Just knocked it off the desk to a hard floor with a Kayfun. Not even a scratch! I do think the Zmax is one tough APV.

Hello Sigelei owners. I'm hunting around for my next step up, got a couple of iTaste vv3's right now, but I have a real interest in getting one of these lower-priced removable battery APVs, so of course this one is on the list. I like the flat top, which will look better, IMO, than the rounded tops so many of these things have.

I confess I only bounced thru this thread, because I spent all day yesterday reading the entire iTaste SVD thread, only to determine that it just has too many serious flaws. The few posts in this thread that I saw, seemed to indicate some similar problems -- button issues? Please don't make me read this entire thread -- is this PV going to last, I dunno, a year? I don't mind the idea of getting a new nicer PV every year, sort of a celebration of reclaiming my life from cigarettes, but I don't want anything that might start giving me "issues" when I've had it only weeks or a few months. Can someone summarize for me, whatever issues there might be with this one?

Thx much!!!
Andria

I don't think button issues are a major issue with the V3 or V5. I saw more of these problems posted before the V5s and the second generation V3s came out last fall. For myself, all I can say is that one of my V3s still works fine going into month 12. It was the only V3 and the only PV I used from April through December of last year. My other V3 is going fine after five months. I share duty on both now.

I can't guarantee to anyone how long any APV is going to last. I'd say these Sigelei do extremely well for the $40-$60 price tag. I'm about to buy a second set of batteries for mine. Some of the batts look to be getting tired.
