All my mods that uses this chip are powered with stacked 18350s(V5,SVD and S-Max) as I prefered 13-15W.

Even the batteries are less stressful in stacked mode as current draw(from the batts) is much less than single battery.
The only thing to watch out is to always charge and use 'em together as a pair. All my AW18350s are matched for capacity as well as IR using a hobby charger. The reason is to not let one battery depletes while the other is still supplying in a series configuration as it will reverse charge the empty one.

It seems that whenever people found out I'm stacking, I'll get 'dirty looks' which I've experienced in a B&M vape shop

Open a laptop battery, its 4 - 18650s stacked... And they aren't even imrs. Ive taken them out of one that didn't hold charge, only two of the batteries even charged up individually out of the 4. Matched sets is a safe way to use stacked. Just check them for matching voltage ocassionally.

Wow, sorry to hear that.. Have you completed a software version check? Try it.. It also resets the Sigelei which may help you... Does it read the battery voltage correctly? Do you feel the mod heating up anywhere?

I do the button hold every time I change batteries....love the fact that it will show atty ohms at the beginning of each firing which helps keep up with which clearo I have on it at the time. It's running version 2.0a.

Reading voltage very accurately according to my Fluke meter.

No heat or short-feeling symptoms anywhere on it even when chain-vaping for hours.

I'm now totally over my fear of stacking matched 18350s (telescopic tube and the instruction manual's saying it can be done helps!:thumb:. It's FINALLY running any volt or watt that I actually ask it to and the vapes are fantastic!!:vapor: Really seeing what I was missing while only vaping in the ~ 5-6 watt range now that I'm able to run 9-10...night and day difference!!! I just wish I had done this before doubling what I spent by buying all these HD 18650s! Guess I'm covered if I ever decide to go mech :)

And talking about buttons, both my V5 and SVD exhibit the non-firing issue occasionally. What worked for me so far is to depress the button and turn it left and right a couple of times.

A small tube of Noalox (~$3 in Home Depot's electrical dept) should help with that and that tube will last you years. Also helps with taking any loose slop out of the threads on telescopic tubes

That's great 69, Glad your vaping good! The thing that gets some poeple burnt hits is running it at same v/w as they were before they got real power.

And talking about buttons, both my V5 and SVD exhibit the non-firing issue occasionally. What worked for me so far is to depress the button and turn it left and right a couple of times.

Glad to have you on board. I believe your correct, if everything is lined up right and switch problems are still and issue. My thought is the contact is free to spin and it gets to places that don't contact as well or a piece of dust. Rotating the contact brings it to a good area.

Could anyone give me their opinion on this Sigelei Zmax V3 - CLEARANCE Sigelei ZMAX V3- colors - 101 Vape The price is right, but does this model have a bad rep?
I am not familiar with this particular color pattern for V3 although it does seem familiar.

I purchased a 2nd generation V3 from 101 Vape in November. So did some others here. I got good service and price ($42 and 14-day warranty) on a body-only buy.

I'll offer this caveat regarding the colored $29 V3s. If the photo is accurate these are 1st generation V3s. You could contact 101 Vape for clarification. These will not have several features of the 2nd generation Sigelei Zmax Mini, V2 and V3 that improve durability and performance. These upgrades happened during the summer of 2013 and did not involve Sigelei model changes. All V5s had the upgrades from the start. Here is a break-down of the 2nd generation upgrades. This write-up didn't mention the firmware upgrade specifically or improvements to the OLED display mounts and circuit board mounts.

2nd generation Sigelei V3 identification and upgrades

For $10 more you can purchase a 2nd generation V3 from Desert Vapes with a 30-day vendor warranty. 101 vapes is only offering a 48-hour DOA warranty on this special clearance deal and you are on your own after that.

What Yzer said ... and in addition, the "painted" surface will tend to scratch more easily that the SS finish. I bought a Sigelei mini, and even though I'm happy with it, I've noticed that the Silver finish is getting scratched or wearing off where it rubs against the SS Zmax when I'm carrying them in my pocket. Not a big deal with silver on stainless but I've heard, and I could be wrong, that the colored ones are painted on a SS base. If I were to buy another one to join the family, I'd probably go back to the $40 version...not much difference between that and the mini when using the 18350 batteries.

The new V5s are coming out in a lot of colors. I have no experience with this vendor but they have quite a selection.

Sigelei Zmax V5 APV Mod $78.99 - VividSmoke.com

These multi color ones have been out for a few months. One seller on Ebay has them for $69.95. Noticed them on the Chinese wholesale vendor sites for a while too. The US vendors did not seem to pickup on them. I wonder if there is a cost difference.

I have no details about Sigelei plant organization, other than what was shown on that Sigelei video I posted a while back. They seem to have unusually tight control over product quality and consistency for a Chinese manufacturer, though. That's why I like them.

What the heck is this? Looks like an SVD. Strange.

Two weeks ago (3/7/14) bought a Sigelei V3 Telescope from a local vape shop. As is my norm with a new mod, I used it exclusively for a week or two (shake down cruise). Well today on it's 15 th day of use I had to take it back to the shop I bought it from.
During the shake down it had turned itself off a couple of times (guessed it was due to battery not being screwed down tight enough). But tightening the battery did not turn it back on, remove and reinstall battery got it going again.
In the last day or so, the display would do nothing while it still vaped normally. Again remove and reinstall the battery corrects the problem. When it did this again this morning I finally pulled the plug.
So, back to square one on Zmax number 2. Don't remember seeing any posts like this one so I thought I'd share.
Loved the first Zmax and the first 2 hours with the second.

Hope things go better with your second unit. The battery does not require a lot of pressure to make good electrical contact. Don't compress the battery spring more than 1/2 way regardless if you are using a short or long battery cap. Noalox on the battery tube and battery cap threads will eliminate problems like this too. Clean the threads with a soft cloth dampened in alcohol before applying Noalox. The other thing to look for is a wet or loose 510/eGo connector. These should be cleaned and dried daily with Kleenex.

It is the ground contact in the tube thread! I had the same issue in the beginning. Back on post 800 something... As yzer says you need noalox on those threads. I did not believe it at first but its true. If you want to prove it to yourself wrap a piece of aluminum foil the size of the threads 1 & 1/2 times around and hold it in position as you tighten. You will find it doesn't shut down and works much better. Then go buy some noalox.
