got mine yesterday-wow-I like this! very solid feeling, LOVE the button, getting used to the menu and functions, it's gorgeous, fits very well in hand not telescoped but battery life won't cut it for my vaping habits, so will likely stick with 18650's in telescoped mode, LED is very clear and crisp, vapes nicely, threading is fine and smooth on mine-kit came with 2 sigelei batteries(18350 and 18650), a 1 bay charger, a protank 1 clone(meh), a carrying case(like one of the ego ones-medium sized), instructions, 2 end caps, the unit....it's actually higher quality than I expected-and for the price-wow, if you can get at desert vapes for the low prices they are offering-it's really a steal. very pleased thus far with this, thanks to all who make this thread valuable/informative and provide all the info for new/potential sigelei owners

Desert Vapes has been selling the V3s for $39.95 since last October or so. They sold out of the flat tops in December and didn't restock until March. The March shipment sold out and now Desert Vapes has them back in stock (while they last). A price like that from a US vendor is pretty stiff competition for FastTech.

I was one of the first ones to buy a V5 from Desert Vapes and added their name to the list on this thread; unfortunately, they were out of the flat tops at the time and I didn't want to wait. My question is, does anyone know if a round top V5 can be converted to a flat top by simply changing the top removable ring? Thx

I don't have a V5, but if the removable top ring is anything like the removable upper collar on the newer V3's, then I don't see why you couldn't. I would guess that the threads should be the same. However the next question would be 'where can you buy a replacement upper collar, round-top or flat-top?'. Has anyone found a vendor that sells replacement upper collars in either flavor?

and question for the veterans-why am I getting a much better vape experience off of this at same voltage and using same toppers than my mvp 2? I'm getting both better vapor production and flavor...I know it's not my head-the results are real and visible/tastier...this is now my favored mod-will use the mvp2's at work just due to me being protective of the zmax

Yes the V3 and V5 rings interchange.

The flat top and round top style top caps of 2nd generation V3 and the V5 should be completely interchangeable. I don't own both models myself but I'm pretty certain of this. I have not seen these parts available for sale as separate parts.

I was asking that a few days ago, a ring that's *really* flat instead of the very-slight bevel of the "flat-top"; even an out-flared one would be good, like the flared ego cones you see... I'm planning on getting a 25mm IBTanked, so a slight flare would look really good. But the best anyone could come up with were some beauty rings for the Provari. most are really expensive; the cheapest was $10 I think. I think the Provari is the mod for lottery winners.
