I think that airflow controller thing may be just what I looking for, when I was looking for "rings" to disguise that gap!

Peeps, my Hypertank sits just like that, which is one reason I don't think it looks right on the Sig; when I get the 25mm IBTanked, I think the slight overhang will fool the eye somewhat, to disguise that.

But, we were planning on visiting a couple of vape shops round here today that we haven't visited yet, and one of them is madvapes, so I'm going to see if they have that controller in stock at the store.

Thx Fairmana!!!

I also learned a really excellent if messy lesson this morning: REMOVE THE TOP RING BEFORE UNSCREWING AN EGO-THREADED TANK SITTING IN THE WELL! Or get juice everywhere when the top unscrews from the tank instead of the tank from the Sig.

Guess that's what I get for trying to do it half-asleep. :D

Glad to help, and I hope it works well for you. :)

I had to fiddle around with my air flow controller for a while until I finally figured out how to put it on correctly, so I'll share some tips with you.

Make sure you screw the air flow controller all the way down onto your mod first before you screw the tank onto the controller. The center pin of the controller can move up and down inside of it freely, so you don't have to worry about over-compressing your mod's positive pin.

Once the bottom of the controller is all the way down on the mod, the bottom of it will be as close to your mod as possible (that minimum gap of ~1mm). That will have moved the center pin inside the controller as far up as it's going to go.

Next screw your tank on, but make sure the upper threaded half of the controller isn't screwed all the way down against the bottom half, because it will be tough to loosen it once the tank is on there. In other words, just make sure the top half of the controller is free to turn easily.

Once the tank is screwed down snugly onto the controller, you can then screw the top half of the controller up against the bottom of the tank.

If the airflow is too restricted, you can loosen the top half of the controller slightly away from the tank to allow more air in (1/4 turn or so). Some tanks have an air channel or two cut across the bottom of the tank to allow for flush mounting, so if that's the case, you may be able to screw the top half of the controller all the way up against the tank without airflow issues. You'll know once you play around with it a little.

All of mine have the gap, I prefer it, helps with air flow.

Anyway, my beauty came in today, a day early... I ordered Wednesday so I REALLY lucked out!

Without further ado, here she is (she needs a name, I'm thinking Sky, or Rayn lol, I know, I'm weird!)

I'm actually really impressed with this beauty! The color isn't as vibrant as the website, but it's still very pretty, but the menu and options are amazing. I have the Zmax mini and the V3 so I figured it'd be just like those, but I really REALLY love it!

She seems to be even more 'powerful' then the V3 and Minis... is that possible? I thought the specks were the same for all of them as far as performance.

It's better because the threads are clean. Thanks to Yzer I brought back a V3 with thread cleaning and the application of Noalox. Apply Noalox now to reduce thread wear and prevent corrosion in the future.

I have Noalox on all of mine (now), I put it on this one before I even tested it out lol.

MrsPO721, the rainbow V5 really looks good! Taking a photo out in the sunlight will show it's real colors. If you think the V5 is hitting harder than normal check Menu Item #8 and make sure it is set to RMS, not Mean. This setting will be saved during battery changes.

That's the first thing I checked lol. When I ordered it (and one of the reasons I did from that vendor) the site said they automatically change that setting before shipping it out which I thought was really cool, but yea, I checked it anyway. It's not so much that it's hitting harder, it just seems to have a little more power lol if that makes any sense (I know it probably doesn't). I'm not complaining, I like it lol. And yes, I can't wait to get her out in the sun, all my lights in my house are so dark!

I finally got in touch with someone (a friend of my in law) who wanted to buy some of my mods, Heaven help me if he does though, I am sure loving the idea of having a back up lol.

Once you get a backup can you really be sure you don't need a backup for the backup? Say you lose the original. Then you would be down to just the backup. If that went away too you would be on very thin ice with only one unit. If you say it can't happen it will. Come to think of it three backups would even be a better idea. One can never be backed up enough. More or less.
