Mh37 as spoke about a few posts back heat is from poor - / ground through the telescope threads. Noalox greatly reduces this. Andria yes the 1.8 is totally do-able, in single mode you'll cap out at ~ 12w. You can run ohms down to 1.5, you'll just notice lower battery life as your working the chip harder... actually if you stack the 350s you'll have plenty of power all the way to 15w and long battery life. Because the amp limit with stacked is 4 instead of the 2.5 with single. Meaning much less stress on the chip as it easily applies the need voltage by ramping the 8v battery down instead of boosting the 4v battery up.

That sucks about the batteries but having to buy new batteries is a heck of a lot cheaper than buying a new mod lol. Sounds like you did really good!

Aside from the two batteries, i think so.. Heres the rundown:

Description: Vamo V5 Kit.
Unit tested to work properly.
Includes:
Vamo V5 - Stainless
Charger
2 X Carto Tanks (New)
2 X Efest 18599 1100MAH Batteries
2 X Pannasonic 16850 3400MAH Batteries
2 X Efest 18350 800MAH Batteries
2 X Vanilla 18350 Batteries (What came in the kit)

The pannys are the weak point. Their 16850b's The kit batts I can use, but know their not reliable. The efests are perfect. GThe charger will hold me over till i can sort out a new one.. I'm nowheres near a n00b on batteries.. :)

Ok... mainly I was concerned that the low ohms would give me more of that burnt taste... but this is such a fantastic price I found on the Nautilus, I can hardly pass it up. :D

Aaaaaand the flip side of burnt taste is... gurgle!

I've been working on building a high-ohm protank coil this afternoon. 9 wraps of 32ga; first I tried a 3mm silica wick, with a 1.5mm silica flavor wick. got one 1 good hit... and it really was good, considering that from protank coils, I usually find the flavor very muted -- which is why I picked the protank to start with. After that 1 good hit, all I got was gurgle, and no amount of wiping, swabbing, the center tube did any good, it seemed the juice was just running right thru, onto the battery.

So I took all the silica out of it, and used a full strand of P&C yarn for the coil, with half a strand of it for the flavor wick. It's better, but not completely free of the gurgle, and definitely giving me more taste than heretofore with any protank-type coil. Not sure how to address it at this point, how to eliminate the gurgle without causing dry hits.

While I ponder, and wait for golden pearls of wisdom from here and various other sources on ECF, I'm going to warm up dinner, feed myself and the spouse, and afterward, work on a T3S coil.

I did use the 5/64 drill bit for the protank coil, those heads are just so tiny and I knew I wanted 9 wraps, and without a torch it's damn hard to get them close enough together -- though the 32ga is so fine that the blue base of a lighter's flame worked at least somewhat, to help me squish it togther without overlapping any of the coils. Oh, the 9 wraps of 32ga on a 5/64 bit gives me a solid 3.2 Ω, so I think that's the right size. When I work on the T3S coil, I thought I might use a 7/64 bit my husband came up with.

Well, nevermind then; I'll wait on the prvt msgs I have out. In the coil rebuild thread, they treat me like an imbecile because I've never built a coil before, and because I'm rebuilding a T3S or protank coil instead of a superdupermicronano fog machine coil. :( I really dislike being treated like an imbecile.

I just thought someone might know how to keep what small success I have so far, and stop the gurgle so I can call it a real success.

I've been using 30g wire doing 9 wraps also. I use 3 strands of yarn in the coil and 3 over. Basically I cut the yarn long enough to run it through and then over, put the chimney on then trim the ends. It takes 10 - 15 minutes for my wick to soak up completely and then I'm off and vaping with that coil for at least 3 days before i rewick. Give your yarn time to fatten up with juice before you give up on your build. I'm using a KPT2.

Don't laugh but... the telescope has to be opened up, when using 18490's?
Yes, the tube must be adjusted properly for each battery size. Only the 18350 may be used with the battery tube in the shortest position.

Sigelei Zmax Telescopic battery tube adjustment

This photo shows a 18500 installed. The 18490 is virtually the same size: only 1mm difference.

Here is the short version:

Sigelei Zmax Telescopic V3 or V5 battery tube adjustment:

The battery tube should be adjusted so that the battery spring is about 1/2 compressed regardless of battery size used.

or...

-Using the tall (15mm) battery cap with batteries longer than 18350: end of battery should extend 1/8" past the end of the tube. Then screw on the battery cap while holding the battery tube in place.

-Using the short (10mm) battery cap with batteries longer than 18350: end of battery should be 1/8" below the end of the tube. Then screw on the battery cap while holding the battery tube in place.

-For 18350 battery: Screw the battery tube down all the way to it's shortest position. Use the short battery cap. It fits 18350 perfectly. The tall battery cap may fit for 18350 or it may not without stretching the spring.

-For 2x18350: Use the tall battery cap. The end of the second 18350 should extend 1/8" past the end of the tube. Then screw on the battery cap while holding the battery tube in place. The short cap is too short for 2x18350 and will leave some of the telescopic tube threads exposed, greatly increasing tube wobble.

Yeah that was good info, Yzer; saved me from having to look up the thread again with the setup instructions. :) I didn't get any 18500's with my initial orders, but I expect I will eventually. Got my 2nd set of 18350s today, got them charged, but I need to check them in the Sigelei and make sure they both charged to 4.2, since those are the two I'm planning to stack; that first set I got, one of them initially only charged to 3.9; I used it for a little while, then put it back in, and that time it did go all the way to 4.2, so WHEW!

I have for the moment, more or less, solved the dry hit problem I was having with the T3S's on the sigelei; I have to remove the top ring. I wasn't thrilled about that idea, since it leaves the top ring threads exposed, but unless you're right up on the thing, it's not that easy to see, and since I like it fully extended, it actually makes the sig seem shorter, with the T3S just perched on top that way. I guess there's just not enough space in that well to allow sufficient air flow, with a 15mm tank. That Nautilus should solve the entire issue, since it's a 510 tank, and has its own air flow control. I just couldn't believe that price; I had already noted that MyFreedomSmokes had the lowest price I'd seen, $33.95, and then they knocked off $5 more for an Easter special. I grabbed my husband and said hey you won't believe this! And he agreed, it was a fabulous price that I would hate myself if I missed, and we had the money for it right now, so why not? :D Given that it's MyFreedomSmokes, it'll ship Monday, and I should have it Wednesday.
