Hi e squire!

Well it's quite a novel huh?

First off I'm with you, while it works down to 3.2 ; you can notice a slight decrease in power as it drops below 3.8. Some don't notice but I suspect your like me and can tell the slightest change. The solution bump it up as it fades. You may be at 9w setting or more at cut off. Also when fully charged 4.2v it puts out more power than 3.7v. So you may be noticing the stronger hit fading to 7 or something like that. But anyway bump it as it fades and turn it back Down to 7 when you replace the battery. Because it will be stronger .

You know where I'm at on the stacking - major power & battery life if you want it.

Trustfire no good. I highly recommend the efest SODA charger . It has performed flawlessly for me. Best thing I got it for 10.00 from vaping craze ! Best price you'll find. Best low budget charger on the market. It has all the charging features of the nitecore except it has selectable charge rate. 1amp for 18650 .5 amp for 18350's. It's never overcharged my batteries either . It's quick and accurate.

Have to agree on the soda charger and if you want to go wild, get an efest luk 4 charger... Much much faster at charging than the competition. Charging factor can be selected and minimum is 500mA... A well known competitor won't charge at more than 350mA so that speaks for itself...

You should have no problem running that 18650 with 2.5 ohms and 7W until the battery hits low voltage warning at 3.3V and low voltage shutoff at 3.2V.

Should, yes. Last night, I was running at 7w on my 2.5 ohm coil no problem. This morning, however, my battery is at 3.7v after around 330 puffs and my display shows 6.4w. It's still a good vape for my taste, and I can correct it by putting in a fresh battery, so I'm not having a fit over it. But it's not the 7w I set it to.

As I sit here, I'm twisting around the telescopic threads and the displayed wattage dropped to 6, then back up to 6.4.

I think I've narrowed it down to the batteries, or I'm due to reclean and Noalox the threads. I'll post results after a thorough cleaning.

I use a Nitecore Intellichager i-4 now.

I've noted that from your previous posts and it's on the top of my shopping list.

It's practically an encyclopedia at this point.

You give me too much credit. I wouldn't have noticed the problem if my display wasn't showing me my actual wattage

I just bumped wattage to 10, then 15, but the display still shows 6.4w output. Current is showing at 1.6A.

Do want. Especially the battery life, but I think with the extra power I'll end up correcting my present power drop issue as well.

Trustfire no good.

My vape budget is pretty meager at the moment, so this might be a front runner.

My V5 appeared to reboot itself. It dislapyed 'Sigelei' for a few seconds then said system on.
Now when I fire, it only displays the resistance of the coil for two seconds before the 'standard' display comes on, battery symbol, puff count and (in my case) power.
Can anyone shed abit more light onto the anomaly?

First cause for exactly this condition: the battery has discharged to 3.2V and need to be recharged. Is the battery charged?

These are the settings I use for Power operation (VW).

Menu Item #1: ON
Menu Items #2 or #3: desired wattage
Menu Item #4: N/A (this item shows the battery voltage)
Menu Item #5: Display Voltage
Menu Item #6: LCD:ON
Menu Item #7: Power
Menu Item #8: RMS
Menu Item #9: Mobile OUT OFF

PaulBHC is sharp. If you hold the power button down while replacing the battery cap you will see the Sigelei firmware version on the display. However, doing this sets all settings to factory defaults including VV operation. To return to your custom settings remove the battery cap, do a normal boot up and reset your settings.

Glad things are working out Marty163! I'm really headed out the door now (with the V5).

A good cleaning and fresh Noalox is always step 1 for troubleshooting and might be the miracle balm we all make it out to be, to an extent. After cleaning, I replaced the same battery, same coil, and my v5 is displaying a 7w output when set to 7w. The coil resistance is showing 2.4 now instead of 2.5, but I chalk that up to a good cleaning of the 510 threads.

Weirdest thing though: if I set it to 7.5, 8, or 9, it displays 6.6w. Set it back to 7, output is 7. Huh?

Fresh battery (4.2v reading): set at 6, displays 6; set at 7, displays 7; set at 8, displays 8. Any setting above that (>8), and it only displays 8w and amps show 1.8. Max voltage in vv mode is 4.5 (if adjusted higher, displays output at 4.5).

As I said before, this isn't a *problem* since 6-8w is my preferred range. It's annoying that if I wanted to experiment with higher wattage on a different atomizer, I seem to be limited.

My guess at this point is a battery limitation (I may very well have caused some damage by overcharging overnight on what I now recognize to be an inferior charger), and new 18650s, a couple sets of 18350s, and a better charger are my top priority before I invest in a kayfun-style RTA so I can determine whether this, in fact, is a battery issue rather than a problem with the device itself.

(edited for additional voltage setting and amp info)

Only time I had a weird display was when I accidentally held the button down while screwing on the cap. Then I read here that is how you access the version display.
Nice :)

My SS mini sais: SI V1.5a

Now is that recent or not?

As far as I know, v1.5a is the latest version for the v3s and minis. There are other versions for other models, like the v5 and spire

So far, these Sigelei Zmax firmware versions are known.

First version V3: SI V1.1
Second version V3: SI V1.5a
Beyond Spire (a Sigelei V3 variant): SI V1.8
V5: SI V2.0a
