I don't know why folks talk about provari 2.5 and zmax as if they are 1:1. The styles are similar but they are different. They provari is heavy, not a throw it in your pocket or purse and forget it. I won't take my mini with me for that reason. However I have confidence that when I die, it'll still be working like new. I don't have that confidence about the zmax which is why I want to have plenty of backups.
The vaporrange looked like the aluminum ones. I remember them now.
Someone asked how many 18350's a day? I'd go through 4 per day, easily. Stacking them works much better. In fact I wasn't crazy about the zmax until I started stacking 18350's. There's information on that earlier in this thread.
I may have to try those 18500's.

Since you saved so much money on the 18500s ( I knew you were an 18500 guy, the 18650 ext tube thing confused me) you can get that Provari and still have money left for that Nylon Rope
Thank you. You just sealed the deal on my not getting a Provari. I live a mobile life in my 18 wheel padded cell. Pocketable is a must for my mods. The Z telescopic w/Squape topper and 18350 just barely works for me. Which is why I'm interested in the mini. I assume that without the extra material to make it telescopic, the mini should be lighter?
At $10 for the telescopic and $13 for the mini longevity isn't a concern for me. With all the info in this thread available, and my penchant for tinkering, I just might be able to make repairs.
I have 2 of them and really don't know if they are. Don't recall seeing it in the description?
I'm constantly amazed by this. My first backup was an ego T upgrade 650 mah VV. It quickly became my goto device and is still in my main rotation. But I kept seeing people advising new members to avoid the low mah batteries because they only last a couple hours. But I'm vaping 10-12 hours on a charge? Seriously, I thought I had a mutant battery on my hands and began to wonder if it might be unsafe! I finally ordered my first Evod 650 mah VV (non-twist) for something to compare to. I currently run 4 devices in rotation. My ego T 650, 2 Evods 650 and one Z 18350 700 mah. On average I'm charging one battery a day!
I'm all about efficiency. The VV ego/Evod lowest setting is lower than standard, that's the setting I use. I run the Z in 'mean' mode @3.3 volts. Watts get more involved for the chip=more power consumption.
To make up for my low power I use nr-r-nr coils. Instant ramp up and no power wasted heating long legs for no purpose.
Why? Why do I stick with my ego/Evods and other classic gear. Why do I tinker to make them a vape great? Cuz I can. Cuz I'm creating my perfect vape experience with my own hands (to some extent). I'm not buying my way into every better(?) vape that comes along.
Or as @NoFumus recently pointed out to me... I'm EXTREMELY contrarian (really like dat word) by nature. I refuse to follow the masses. Must find my own way.

I use 18650 for a small percentage of the time and a single 18350 for even a smaller percentage. I have no issues with E-fest batteries having used E-fest reds for a couple of years now. The Sigelei V3 or V5 can be every bit as durable as a Provari if appropriately modified. In April I will have one of my V5s in exclusive use for two years. This is the V5 with the $.74 Omron switch mod. The switch is rated for one million clicks and should not need replacement for at least another year. Unlike spending bucks to have a Provari factory serviced, I service the Sigeleis myself.
I have two Sigelei's, a Zmax mini and a SS telescoping one. Early last year I picked up the mini on Amazon for $15 and the stainless model for 4-5x that.
Are you folks saying that there is an inexpensive source for the Mini's? Personally I think they make great starter mods - replaceable battery and true VV.
My copy took a flying leap off the roof of the house on to the driveway and outside of a scratch or two works as good as it did before the acrobatics.

They are very hard to come by George, at this point if you like the form factor of the Mini id pick up a mini provari for 29$( i cant believe i just said "get a provari")
I haven't been shopping for Sigelei Minis lately so I don't know the current prices. The cheapest V5 I purchased was $19.99 last December from Vapor Room 909. That one was all stainless steel with logo and vented flat top.
Personally I could not understand the mini concept. The advantage of the Zmax was the telescopic design. Why not get the regular version and just use a smaller battery in it? The best of both worlds so to speak.
Some people didn't like the telescopic tube idea for a variety of reasons. The most popular reason was the surface gap between tube sections when used for 18650 or 18500. The Sigelei Mini is no shorter than the V3 or V5 with 18350 (if the V5 or V3 is fitted with the shorter battery cap). The Minis were on the market before the telescopic V3 or V5.
I think I bought my first mini around the time I bought the V2..........went thru a batch of Smok Zs (all junk) had the Smok mini in SS, really looked nice/really functioned poorly , Not sure if Sig made a mini in SS?

To each his own. The same goes for me with the Provari 2.5. You can use the full size with an 18490/500 without the extension cap so why buy the mini to use an 18350? Something for everyone.
