Got the Sigelei Zmax in stainless about 2 months ago. Was very happy with it as it seemed very solid and loved the VV/VW features. Unfortunately the 510 connector came completely out of the unit after about 1.5 months. It appears the piece with the threads inside the catch cup is actually a separate part and is just press fit into the top and it worked itself loose over time. No drops, everything finger tight, no abuse. Sad face....

First run unit and Sigelei has made several updates to the unit including the Head.
You can reassemble that. First you should make peen indentions inside the cap to Bite the fitting. Then press/tap it into place.
Every other one I heard of doing this was from tightening to much or an angle impact when dropped. Just saying.:)

That looks like a serious design flaw. Can you get a warranty replacement?

The vendor was nice enough to give me an RMA # even though their webisite said 30 days. We'll see how it works out - exchange for a new working unit, refurb or just try to repair mine.

Read a post recently, where another member mentioned to be very careful with the threads on the Zmax. That the connector is made out of aluminum, and will strip easily

Mine appeared to be brass as that's what the pressed in section on the connector looked like when it came out.

Nope, "Never" over tightened but it has fallen over on the table/speaker a couple times with tanks, atties, etc on it but they are all the same diameter so no real undue "angled" stress, never a drop to the floor or anything of that nature. I'm just sayin' :)

It should be able to withstand a couple of tips though - I mean come on, how far is it, 4 inches? This is an $80 device made out of heavy gauge stainless steel for Pete sake! It's just a poor design.... Whatever I get back from RMA will be a back-up only used to test for shorts/check ohms on RBA's. I bought a Reo Grand and have iSeason on the way.

Love my Zmax V2!! Abe at Exhale really took care of me. Running both my MT3s and T3s. The T3 is a little tricky, this weekend a friend was smoking mine with a T3 on top and I noticed a lot of vape was escaping from the cone area. As we all know T3's are quite airy, but the amount of vape that was getting through was alot - I was trying to convert how much liquid my friend was wasting

:vapor:

The MT3 is a solid perfomer and they have been vaping non-stop with no burns or dry hits.

I've had one problem so far and that is the display will stop responding. It has only happened twice in over two weeks of all day vaping and I think it happened with the same battery. I'm keeping an eye on it but I'd love to know if you happen to see the same problem. It was easily correctable by simply reinserting the battery though.

About the screen going black - More than likely you guys already did it right buuuuuuutt...I didn't:

I didn't realize the Zmax came with two battery end caps. Being a 18650, I was using the larger cap made for two 18350's stacked. It fits so well, I didn't hear a rattle and it felt secure and right. After the 8th time the screen went black, I walked into my office to get the box and there in the corner saw the smaller cap that had fallen out of the box when I opened it. In order to get the battery to stay nice and secure you need the smaller end cap with the 18650!

Don't know if it helps, but might wanna double-check which one you have on there.

Exactly(poor Design) and why it was updated. Latest top is supposed to be a one piece machined design.
I am glad to hear the dealer is taking action. No doubt he is aware of changes in the line and reasons for design updates. Hope they upgrade yours with a newer unit.

I followed development of this unit from its infancy with great interest while looking for my first VW upgrade. Got to see the problems and corrections as they developed from small test groups. Unfortunately the did not incorporate the 510/ego with 16mm drip well until the latest release. By then I had purchased the evic's.

Is this the telescoping V3 I saw or was there a v2.5 with the one piece top?? I'm really hoping what I get back is one piece.

I've had a ss Sig since December, been through tons of pretty serious abuse including a horrific beagle induced sidewalk dive and it's never missed a beat. I have several Smok Zmaxes as well- one's a little finicky about where you press the button occasionally but otherwise nothing but good. =)

Hahaha!! 16 secs? Jeez 6 or 7 secs and I know the throat it is going to make me regret it.

Just tested mine and 16 secs was the cutoff as well.

LOL, I never thought about but I'm a pretty big guy. My Provari's don't have cutoffs though and I don't like any manufacturer telling me when to stop...sux!

i would rough up the post part that is press fit for the tube ad apply some conductive glue(like rear defrost tab glue) and press that sucker back in there. my first V2 Sigelei had the positive battery post fall out one day when i was switching batterys,so you all might want to be careful using large batterys or over tightening the cap the positive post is just soldered to the edge of the circuit board kind of poorly.

You must have huge lungs! Yea it’s intentional. Most others are 10 seconds…

No kidding! I usually hit it once, exhale thru my nose while taking a second and hit the 10 sec. or so cut off. But I'm usually good. Need more, just double tap the button and keep going. I believe the cut off is based on the current draw so a higher resistance atty/cart will go longer than a low resistance atty/carto.

Supplier shipped my replacement so I'm hoping it's the V2 with the EGO threads and one piece head- maybe try a Kanger or something someday.
