My wonderful GF gave me a wonderful RamaHanuKwanzMas gift...a "coupon" (index card) on which she wrote..."This is good for ANY 2 of those e-cigarette battery thingies that you love so much." (She's NOT a vaper.)

Later fired up the ol' PC and found that fasttech had a "JingleBell" coupon for 10% OFF (thru 12/26)...

So...ordered a BLUE P80 for $27.58 and a RED P80 for $26.49 (with, of course, FREE shipping)...

Appreciate it Gerry. Before I heard back from you, I started playing with it, and ended up kind of in the same neighborhood. I've been hanging at around 8W with 0.75-0.85 ohm. I put a preheat of 11W for 1.8 seconds, and it's working pretty well.

I've also been playing with TC, and kind of liking an 11W with 390-400 degree limit. Both are very similar- I can get a pretty full hit with little or no prime puff. I still think a straight 8W vape gives more flavor, but it's just a lot of work - you kind of have to concentrate to pace a very long 6-8 second drag to get the really good hit. So I'm getting used to it. Not sure whether I'll settle on preheat or TC, but either will be easier than straight watts.

Really loving this mod.

Thanks, PufZep - appreciate the input. I tried it, but that setting feels like what my Zelos mod was doing when I tried TC with it. Starts super hot, then seems to almost just shut off. I think I'm getting pretty close to what's working for me with the 11W & approx 390-400, depending on mood. But even the 11W is taking some getting used to. It does help eliminate the prime + long draw syndrome, though.

When I ordered my P80 from WisMec.Org, it took either 26 or 28 days to get to me (can't remember which now, I posted it in this thread), and that was before any Hollidays. FT only takes about 9-12 days from order to my mail box (and I thought that they were slow). I couldn't find a dedicated thread for the 228 in this Forum (I searched 22 pages back in either the Temp Control or VW sub Forums and about 10 pages back in the other and didn't find much for the Predator 228, which surprised me), that's why I asked. Thank You All for the help, I'm not exactly sure which direction I will go in at this point in time, but do know that for TC/TL I will stick with my HΩ Tech Devices, it's in Power mode I was really interested in getting the 228 for, but then ricks brought up the 230 and I started looking at that one also. I really wish that these companies would STOP making New Devices, as every time they come out with a New piece of vape gear, well, here I go again. I have NO ability to resist anymore, even if I don't NEED something New. I guess I'm just a Pitiful Individual when it comes to "Will Power".

I went there and looked at all the pictures they had on their web page, and from the pic's it looks to me like the Old 510, not the upgraded 510's, but, we all know that they might be shipping out the upgraded versions and just haven't updated their pic's on the page yet. I'll email them and ask before I buy. Thanks gerrymi.

Here's the message I sent them;

"On your Predator 228 page, your pic's show the Predator with the Old 510 connection that has been known to fail for a lot of people, so, are you shipping out the Upgraded Predator 228's with the New 510 assemblies, or still the Old versions that pull out with use ??"
