I've found another issue related to the post-redirections. When clicking to "jump to my last post", which is the link [1], I get a redirection to [2], and then another redirection to [3], that goes to the page of my last post instead of the current post [4]. With the URL of [4], there is no redirection and the browser scrolls to the correct post. I do not know where could be the issue or how to fix it, but there is a slight differencte between [2] and [4], so the problem may be in "showthread.php" that does not redirects to the right URL ([4]) when parameter "goto" is set to "mylastpost".

Mesa, AZ...off the analogs for years!
Alex any idea when the view first unread issue will be fixed?

I find myself avoiding long threads I'm active in only because I can't find the place where I left off. Optimistic this is near the top of the TODO list to fix.

Edit to update: Seems to be somewhat working now, thank you. It doesn't take you to the last read post but it does take you to the last read page...you just need to wait a bit for it to redirect.

This is my issue as well although it doesn't do it for every thread. Was trying to see if there is a pattern to it and am finding that if there are multiple pages in a thread that I had been following, the "Go to first new post" button will take me to the top of the page where the new post is (where I am forced to scroll down), not directly to the new post on that same page.

However if the message thread is only a single page, then it correctly goes to the first new post on that single page (at least for me).

So it seems to possibly be related to multi-page threads. It knows what page the new post is on and goes to that page, but won't move to the new post's position, instead defaulting to the top of that page instead.

And as a sidenote, this happens when I post to multi-page threads (like this) as well. When I post, instead of landing at my own post, it lands at the top of the page where I posted.

Just did a couple of "Go to New Post" attempts on multi-page threads and I think it's fixed! Crossing fingers and props to code monkey Alex (hoping it holds)!

It's still not working for me:(

ETA: After I posted this, it took me back to the first page.

Yeah, it worked briefly (at least 15 minutes before I went off to do something else) and eventually died (noted when checking back into this thread this morning).

If you let the script run, it may initially display the first page but will eventually land on the correct page, but will not go down to the actual new post.

I do know it's a PITA trying to tweak code on BBSes. :(

"My posts" is still 'my threads' without going to my actual posts as can be accessed by clicking on my name and then clicking on "view forum posts".

All subscription links in emails go to the first page of the thread subscribed rather than the lastest post.

"Notafications" used to default to the inbox - now only shows that if there's an unread PM or friends and group notafications not handled. Those last two should 'expire' after a month of no action rather than be carried forward. I think the link should be "PM" or "inbox" rather than "notifications" - defaulting to the most used function, rather than the least used functions.
