the screen on my Stabwood SL intermittently goes blank. It started it yesterday but would come back on when I took the battery (Samsung 40T) out then reinserted it. I get the welcome screen and so the screen works.
It was updated as soon as I received it.
I’ll contact Yihi customer service tomorrow. Just thought I’d put this out there to see if anyone has had problems yet.
I love this mod but this issue and the gritty threads on the battery cap is disappointing.
:(

Gritty threads can sometimes be cleaned up with a very fine sandpaper (~2000) and a dab of Noalox. I've had to do that on a few cap battery doors and everything ends up all smooth again.

The screen, no clue. But given the price point, the vendor should replace or repair it if it's still within warranty period. I believe YiHi offers 3 months on their stuff (maybe 6 now, I don't keep up with them that much).

Update: there is a firmware update to fix the blank screen when firing.

MVM my SL is already updated to that firmware.

The other day, my SL (coffee tang) began saying "short" on the display everitime I press the fire button.
I updated to v. 1.173 the day I bought.
It is sad that one of my most expensive mods go this route.

Since it is two months old I can use warranty, what I hate hate is that "Can you send us a video of the problem?" for which the Chinese stands out.

Their refusal to use, understand or believe written language is very indicative.

That update was also supposed to fix the “short” issue as well as the blank screen when firing. Disappointed it didn’t. Although I did reinstall that firmware and haven’t had a problem since (fingers crossed).

Actually all the us vape shops I have used a warranty have asked for a video as well as the manufacturer. I just think it pin points the problem for them.

Hope it gets resolved quickly. Let me know what happens I’d be interested in hearing about it.

Thanks.

This weekend I'll reinstall the firmware, I still have the file on my computer. Should this fix the problem, it means that there is a memory area which is gone bad.

I have little simpathy for all the process of warranty, either with the dealer or manufacturer.
I don't understand why the vape manufacturers, be Lost Vape, Yihi and others, require their dealers to have their authorisation before proceeding with a repair or an exchange. Normal warranty laws in EU and US require the seller to process the fault anyway; it is the way they single themselves out of this, that bother me highly.
On many occasion, for low value items mostly, I just write them off.

I'll keep posted...

I wrote the dealer Friday asking for a warranty repair, as the mod is three months old, and I got no reply.

Yesterday I then tried and flashed again the V. 1173 firmware to the mod, with no joy whatsoever, "short" at every push of the fire button.

I was turning the laptop off, but out of stubbornness I flashed the SL once more.
Well, must be my good star, the mod started to work without an hitch, no more "short", it vapes at every press of the fire button.

Happily MTL vaping with it now.

Still upset with Yihi and the dealer.

The mod now works again, but I can't understand why it took two attempts, unless there areas of the NAND which are bad.
Good luck to you and, I believe, I am done with Yihi.

Yeah v1173 is supposed to fix blank screen and short issues. I heard so many good things about Yihi and since I already have a few dozens DNA mods, I decided to check them out and bought a YiHi SXmini SL Class SX485J. Worst mod I ever purchased. Now it is sitting up on the shelf facing the corner of shame. :(
