The past few weeks been doing a number of tests on chargers and the affects of juice on them and the battery itself. Already have shown that juice being in an auto batt when being charged can caramelize on the switch killing it. But what about the other dangers. Well, 8 batts killed in the name of science later, came up with some interesting info. The wall and usb chargers were far more resistant, but not impervious to shorting out a battery due to juice. The slim line charger on the other hand, because of it's more open design, can kill one quite easily. The post is the positive terminal on the battery, the threading the negative. Getting juice inbetween the post and the threading can create a bridge between the two shorting out the batt, and possibly the charger. This can take place on every type of charger, with either autos are manuals. There's a very simple way to prevent this though, make sure your battery is juice free before charging it. It's another strike against the condom method, adding another to the list of potential dangers from using it. Would again only suggest the drip and taryn spin method for those not using syringes, or the syringe refill method.
