The coils I currently use in my Mi-One are Joye coils, described as 1.5ohm SS316 Clapton coils. Joye's site claims they only work in VW mode but I got my Cubis tanks today and slapped one on my EgoONE Mini base and it vaped fine with Joye's "Clapton" coil.

The Cubis also came with 1.0 and 0.6 coils, so worst-case scenario I can probably use those with low wattage and settle for having to buy more than one kind of coil.

Weirdly, the "Clapton" that came with the Cubis is a different shape (wider on the bottom) than the same ones I order in 5-packs (more of a straight cylinder, same shape as their 1.0 and 0.6 BF coils). Does anyone know anything about that? I can't seem to find the wider ones anywhere online.

Yeah I'm not really sure what is going on with those 1.5 Ohm Clapton Coils?

Because when I looked on Joyetech's site, this is what I found...

BF Clapton-1.5ohm - Joyetech

Which says they are a Kanthal Coil.

But when I go to the Joyetech Store, they have these which they call a BF SS316 Clapton 1.5ohm Head...

BF SS316 Clapton 1.5ohm Head (5pcs)

A Kanthal Core(s) with a SS316 Wrap maybe?

It's not a dna chip, but the nx 75 -a is a great little mod! Single 18650 and dimensions are like 75x 35x 25. The "A" model is all aluminum and is in the 90 gram range. These mods are extremely solid. I own about 5 macro S bodys and they are nice and light and have dna chips, but they are not very sturdy imo and have toasted one from just one drop. If you are careful though, they will last and I do love them. Although expensive, stratum vaproline makes some very light and small single 18650 mods, which are just as small as the macros and also makes some nice side by side mods. Stratum olc probably makes the best , smallest mods around, but are really expensive and impossible to get. All the mods mentioned above are all I vape, because I love small 18650 mods!
Definitely gonna look into the block 22, looks like my kind of mod

vapdivrr, id warn you though, install an ss coil, plug in the tank, it will automatically put you in tc. i havent found a way to get it in regulated mode. ive update the firmware and see no difference. not sure if this would be a deal breaker for you.

its still new to me so im still learning to use it. but since im usually using kanthal now, no problems at all and goes directly in regulated mode as i prefer. overall im still very happy with this mod.

I'm definitely a kanthal guy. I have tried ss and Tc a few times and much rather do kanthal and regular power mode. So are you saying its mainly a mod for tc only? Or are you vaping it with kanthal and regular wattage mode? Thanks

it will sense what coil you put in. if its a coil you can use for temp control, it will turn to tc when you pop in the tank and give you a recommendation for firing in tc mode. but if you put in a tank with kanthal, it will automatically go to regulated mode. im currently using ni60, it goes to regulated mode, but sometimes goes to tc.

I was looking into this, and it's really checking most of the right boxes. But that auto-detection thing? That'd be okay, if it was easy to get out of it. But if you haven't figured it out, that'd be a deal killer for me. I don't want tc, and don't really want a multi-step, complicated process to get out of it every time I put an atty on it.
Shame.
Maybe enough feedback & they'll update firmware to make that autodetect an option.

Agree the nx75 is a great little mod, also have a bunch of the original pico's bought on sale back then when first came out also a nice small mod but limited to what size tank will fit because of battery cap but innokins zenith fits it so good for this vapor-er.
The Hcigar nano 75w with dna chip is my everyday mod for several years now some complain about the battery door easy to cross thread and have one as such but the others stashed do not have that problem .

If you set TC to the Maximum Temperature, like I dunno... 550F, would TC ever come on?

A Silly Work Around. Because why wouldn't I be able to switch to Power Mode with a SS Coil? But maybe a Work Around none the less.

That was an old trick we did with the iPV D2 since it had no buck in VW mode. If you wanted a lower wattage with sub ohm coil (0.2Ω etc) you could put it into any TC mode at 550F and adjust the wattage to taste.

Now the iJoy Captain PD270 will fire a TC build at full power (~235W) even with the setting of 5W/300F. The only thing worse than a mod that puts you into TC automatically is one that doesn't work at all...

Good point - that's possible. But I did a quick look at a video, and between that & their marketing info, it sounds like every time you put on an atty, it's going to default to its recommendation, and you'd have to change it. That'd be infuriating to have to reset every time.

The VooPoo Drag will set a "factory recommended" wattage every time you say yes to the New Coil prompt. Just another one it's many annoying faults.

Yeah... I have a couple of Mods that prompt me for something Every Time I Unscrew/Screw in an atomizer. It's kinda a PITA. But something that I found just became a Dull Routine.

With Top Fill Tank/RTA's, it is something that doesn't occur as often as when you needed to Remove the Atomizer to fill it. But low level Drudgery none the less.

i would unscrew the tank and screw back in. it would go to regulated mode. not sure if thats the trick.

try to have a look at this mod in a shop. you may not let go of it.

So you're saying if you put in a tank w/SS, the first time it goes into TC mode. But if you unscrew it and screw it back in it goes to power mode?
