MY Kbox Mini and VTC mini have both had an electronics smell since day one when I would open the battery compartment. After 3 months no blow up yet.
Sorry Robert. I was specifically referring to the dodgy battery which I think the OP has not thrown away.

I have a subox Mini and I love it. This baby is helping me with the first leg of my vape journey. Good clean sturdy mod. A little disappointing Kanger has had some trouble since with other releases.

Ohh yepper on a dodgey battery, sorry lost track there.
Yep I liked my little Kbox Mini so well I bought 2 more. One is destined for my brother though.
Fits the hand so nice and does all I want it to do an more.

Whilst I was compiling a shopping list for myself, I was thinking of others too. I was thinking of Endura T18 for my friend and either the Ego One VT and.. something else (I forget) for my cousin. Mixed results with my friend as it seems he's avoiding me as of late. He hasn't returned my calls. Maybe he and his girlfriend are not quite ready to quit, that's okay. Cousin is a big burly fella, so maybe I have to keep on looking for something with more grunt. If the Moto Plus had arrived to Aussie shows by now I would've picked that up.

I know its already been said but i would think its a battery issue. Try some "name brand" batteries and see if that helps. Don't go cheap. There are a few websites that sell good batteries for a reasonable price. ($5-10 each). I've had a smell like that before and I instantly threw them out and bought a new set and the smell was gone. $20 for a few new batteries is better than paying for a new mod or even worse; hospital bills. Hope you figure it out.

Can someone check his mod, i have the subox mini and i've been using it for like a week now and when i remove the battery and smell the mod its like something is burning even if i didnt use it for 2 days, i usually remove the battery if i am not vaping. Is it normal?

Don't have a Subox.

It could be one of three things.

1. As boards heat up the glue, solder, and plastic of the board can release fumes for a short time when it it is new. This usually goes away in a week or two.

2. You may be using too much wattage and started melting the insulator

3. Your batteries maybe starting to fail.
