there isnt a whole lot to temp control contrary to the stories of magic that evolv has sold everyone -- hysteresis is the hardest thing to nail down perfectly and i would bet thats the issue you are having -- there is likely an interupt being called before a timer runs out and that causes it to freeze up because that wasn't properly planned for.

see if you can get it to more consistently have the issue when its cold or hot out -- see if you continue to inhale after letting go of the fire or start inhaling earlier than normal if that contributes to the issue. once you can give them a path to consistently reproduce the issue they will do it on their side on a unit that has a debugger attached and be able to see exactly whats causing the failure -- hopefully they were smart enough to include a way for you to upgrade the firmware to test the fix like via usb upload like ipv did. Good luck.

Thank you, that is more in tune with what I am looking for, I just want to help them fix it because at this price I could not care less if it is a clone or not and evolve charging $60.00 just for the chip and another $20.00 for the usb charger???? I mean come on, that is outrageous

As you said " the R and D department I am dealing with with smocare has been asking me to try and find what is causing this" . My suggestion is to send them the video and the device. Let them troubleshoot the actual device. People here can give ya a list of "what if's" but nobody has the mod you have "in hand".... just shooting in the dark... imo... good luck...

Agreed, and that is what they want, but without being able to figure out any constants in the device as of yet I thought this forum (which is supposed to be for exactly this purpose, or so I thought) would be a good place to get some constructive thought, not comments from diehard evolve fans and naysayers, just IMO

Because it's neither the same mod nor the same board. There's literally nothing to compare between the two. But by all means, listen to someone else if you like.

Look I am just being theoretical here and IMO if a device that does the SAME thing had a problem it is VERY likely this one may be experiencing some of the same growing pains, they both adjust wattage to maintain a certain resistance...that is ALL there is to temperature control, there is no flash or magic here, just a simple control board monitoring and adjusting, I am not saying it IS relevant as they may be entirely different, but without being an expert in both a theory is better than someone's opinion offered as FACT when it is not, simply another opinion and not constructive in the least

I guess a better way to phrase what I am saying is why are you 100% certain that it has no relevance? Provide me with proof that there is no way it is relevant and I will by all means listen...but I until I can prove it is not will evaluate any feedback I get on here until I can disprove it's credibility...we did not get anywhere when everyone said that a circle is not relevant to the planet for the planet is flat...and at that time that was a FACT...just saying
