I have the alien too and hope the paint issue has been sorted out. Mines multi coloured. Didn't get the kit as wanted the cloud beast . For the alien and cloud beast it cost me 75 quid so 15 more than the kit with the baby beast. Runs along quite nicely at 100 watts though. I've got a kbox70 as well and you can scratch the paint off with your thumb nail on the top and bottom. Really poor paint job.

The Alien is my beater and it has been banged around a lot. After 2.5 months it has a bit of wear on the bottom and the rest of the mod is like new. One of the best mods I have ever owned.

I stuck with 1.2.1 and it has worked perfectly. The only issue I have has was when it kept asking "new atomizer" and then reset the puff counter after 11-12k puffs. Weird, but beyond that, it is perfect IMO.

I've had no issues with mine, but I've been using a Nebox. It doesn't leak like everyone says and is underated, this mod has changed my mind about kanger. I used to hate them but this vapes great an the 10ml tank is great for out an about. It doesn't guzzle juice either, I filled the tank twice in a week :)
My alien came with the update, probably why no issues

Had a chance to buy a black nebox for $20 shipped and passed, and wanted an AIO so got a cupti instead (V1). It absolutely does not leak whatsoever and has top airflow control. The fire button rattles like crazy but it has worked perfectly so far. I recommend them, they have a massive glass window (i put a vape band around mine), and the battery pops in and out just so easily. The ml is less but i love the fact there's simply no way it can leak, and if you want to charge onboard you can, although the usb is on the bottom which is the only real design flaw of it. V2 is just too cumbersome and heavy. I put a 3000 mah 18650 in it and it lasts for ages as I only use the clocc MTL 1.0 ohm coil. Had no gurgles or dry hits.. a very underrated little box. You are very lucky with the nebox if it's not leaking, enjoy!

1.2.1 here also and my puff counter reset when I had the batteries out for an extended period of time but not when I did a quick change.
That could be it. I use it every day but was away for 2-3 days and left it at home with no batteries installed. How long was your "extended period of time" when it happened to you?

Almost 15000 puffs on mine total now and it is still great. I would buy a couple more if I didn't think Smok alone will likely release another dozen new mods this year based on recent new product launches. Crazy time for new products, which IMO is all good except for my credit card!

I don't know if people experienced this. My ohms reader is so terribly off on my Alien. When I changed from my Twisted Messes to the Cloud Beast with the TFV8 coils it detected the new ohms at like .5 something one time. When I put my RDA back on which has a build of .3 even is detected at around .45, so I figured out a way to fix these issues somewhat. I didn't find that taking out the batteries and putting them back in, making it detect a new coil would help because it just got worse and it read the coils just as bad. What I do is connect the tank or RDA and then go to settings-download-update firmware and click on the Y. This must be doing something because the Alien reads my coil properly. I even had a time that I chose the new resistance and I got messages on the screen saying not to use dangerous objects. Restarting the firmware this way must be doing something, even though of course it's not replacing it. I believe it's doing a hard reset. It's just from my experience with this mod (I have software 1.0.2 and computer can't update).

I took the batteries out and left it a day or 1/2 a day. Now I just do the battery swap like a pit stop.

How many coils have you used for the 15,000 puffs? My first one is still going strong!

I love the Baby and Cloud Beast coils. I build my own generally but these last so long that I bought 14-15 various 3 and 5 packs to stock. My RBAs won't be used for a while likely!

Using the BBB on the Alien mainly and a CB was used for just a little bit. Likely 3 or 4 coils since I got the Alien but I have all of the coil types and was anxious to try different ones as they just started to taste muted/off. The Baby octo coils forever (3-4 weeks) and the M2 (intended for the Smok Stick) lasted less than a week. Using the X4 Quad currently and after 2 weeks @ 42w it is still chugging along like day one.
