Smoke51 seems destined now to become a "player" in the e-cig market. This is not the same company we joked about months ago. It's popping up everywhere, has a great product and is ramping up its PR releases, such as this one today on the PR newswire.

Look around its site. I firmly believe -- and have for a long time now -- that this type of disposable is the future of e-smoking. It's the only product I could recommend to a tobacco retailer, a person who wants to stock 5-packs of cartridge/atomizers that he sells once a week, like a carton of cigarettes. No refilling, no mess, no fuss, no returns.

And note that Smoke51 is based in Miami, not like troubling LoongTotem or missing-in-action GreenCig.

True to a certain extent, but its still a LoongTotem Re-Branded and now even more expensive.

EDIT: And I repeat for the 10th time ... Its not a true disposable when you still have to fiddle with charging batteries, worrying about them running out, or even trying to add your own fluid.

A true disposable offers a throw away battery, atomizer, and cartridge (entire unit) plain and simple. All LoongTotem does is cut out 1 thing, which is actually more inconvenient than refilling a used cartridge or dripping yourself.

just my $.02 cents ....

At the end of the day, I have no desire to throw away my cell phone. I plug it in overnight, and it's ready to go the next day. Lasts all day. I want the same from an e-cig. I would be happy never again to have liquid all over my hands and a syringe on the table (I've stuck my finger twice with a needle that was dripping e-liquid). And I would be really happy if I never again faced a failing atomizer producing wimpy vapor.

No, this is exactly what I want. This is the consumer mass market product. It looks like a cigarette, will outsmoke anything out there maybe short of Trog's Screwdriver (haven't tried that one) and offers tastes and strengths in toss-'em cartridges. With this in a pack like the miserable Health E-Pack, I could go out on the town without carrying a tote bag of stuff to make it past 3 hours.

Don't you people demo your e-cigs. For me, everything seems fine until I explain the short battery charge-life and refilling carts and disassembling the unit. Eyes go blank right there! That's just a major turnoff that we pioneers accept as part of e-smoking evolution. But we have to get past the nuisances and unreliability issues if e-smoking is ever to have a chance of appealing to most consumers. My demos would be better received if I said I use a cartridge a day, toss it, plug in the battery overnight, and screw on a new cartridge in the morning. Now, that's convenience at a cost less than smoking a pack a day.

This disposable is not the end-all of e-cig development. But it is a needed interim to that end-all.

all smoke51 needs to do is improve their ****TY customer service , it's not a bad product but their service is really really horribly bad. If their service was better i might still be using their model. As it stands i have been waiting 3 weeks for a reply to one of my MANY e-mails regarding a faulty battery.

after dealing with people like Kate @ the Smokelessshop , Ben @ Vapornine and Steve @ Puresmoker i have realized that we don't need to put up with sub-par customer service IMHO

This is a great way of getting people riled up over environmental concerns. You think second hand smoke is bad, imagine all the non-recyclable garbage disposable units create and the legacy they will leave behind.

It's one thing to toss a spent cartridge that may or may not be able to be recycled but then to throw away batteries that are destined for eventually run out is a major source of concern. Sure, you have the AA's of the world but imagine how many of these batteries would end up in a landfill with amount people vape. 2-3-4 or more a day?

The only way I would see disposables working is if they had a return policy on the batteries so you would get credit on your next order and have the company recharge and re-use them in new disposables.

Yes this would make them a less vape-and-forget-it but imagine the additional toxins it would add to landfills.

Disposables are a bad idea for everyone- IMO. If you are too lazy to vape properly, then don't.

Hi to everyone
Am new to E-cigs and smoke51 is my first.. Knowing they were having battery problems and knowing they were getting new improved ones in.. They shipped me the kit with the old batteries anyway.. So very first impression is that it's nothing but air using their products.. Gotta great first 2/3 hits and then all down hill.. So I called and found out they knew the batteries were having problems and now the new improved ones were in so ( I now need to send them back ((((((BEFORE))))) they would send me replacements.. not impressed at all with that treatment ) So I call for a status, it's been 2 wks since I sent them back,, and they say they have no record of reciving my return (please note there are two company addresses on their recipts, the large print one at the top of the page is the wrong one,, look for the tiny print address some where in the middle) I was put off since I had ordered more cartridges in expectation that my new batteries were on their way.. So when I said look this has to be resolved because I sent them, (keep your postal recipt) She said ok we will get them out tomorrow for you..

Honestly I don't know what bugs me more,, the fact they had not record of recieving or shipping batteries,, because the new batteries were at the post office already I just hadn't been to town yet ..

Or the fact they had no record and said they would get them in the mail anyway and have never shipped a second pair since there was no record to know they had recieved or shipped the first pair??

The new and improve batteries,, no different then the first, don't hold a charge even if you don't use them.. And the first couple of puffs are great then nothing....

Since there is no money back for the 51's I am stuck with them and a very huge empty pocket with it.. Looking to try another brand.. I've read many places to make sure I am using them correctly just to be fair and I don't think 2 to 4 slow inhales every 10/20 or so minutes is too much to ask from the product.

So not happy, wouldn't do it again and just remember there is no money back,, even after I asked what if the new batteries weren't any better I was told trust me they will be....

Just my thoughts for a first experience..

Seriously though -- $150/kit? yes I know there is a coupon code but really? That's still $105 for the starter kit with only 2 carts. They have a $70 one, but does anyone only go through a battery a day? I agree that the 2-piece e-cig is the up-and-comer for those who want a close approximation of analogs without the hassle, but $150 is a hell of a premium to be paid for that convenience.

Even Bloog kits, with two batteries and five carts, start at $99.

Although S51 has achieved much higher market penetration (I see em in gas stations all over the place), I just don't think they will be able to hold that price point for long.

All up in your grill..
Hi there sorry to hear about your bad experience from 51. I manage a small mall kiosk that sells 51 products. I really like their 2 piece model personally. My friends and family all use it too. The only thing is that there are alot of returns with defective product. Like 30%! But we warranty the stuff here at the store so our customers don't have to sweat it. There is no mystery to it, if it messes up the customer brings it back and we replace it. then we send it to 51 and wait for a replacement (2-4 weeks) Like I said we are a small store but having a retail outlet helps alot because our customers believe in us. We stand behind our stuff. I think that as you see retail outlets popping up this problem will be overcome. I don't care what the product is. buying stuff from the internet is always gonna be less convenient then buying from a retail outlet. But retail is always a little more expensive. I think 51 is overwhelmed and that's why they are so slow and their customer service is so crappy. I think in 2 or 3 years (assuming the fda doesn't ruin this for everyone) the batteries will be much more reliable and the cartridges more accessable. We tried a bunch of other products before settling on 51 and we felt it was a better product. Just my 2 cents..
