Hello ECF Folks,

I've had a X2 Volt battery for less than a month and it seems it's already dead.

First I noticed the automatic X2 firing on it's own without drawing on it. I'd hear it and unscrew the cart to stop it from burning on it's own. This happened a couple times over 2-3 days. Now it doesn't seem to take a charge at all. I've tried various carts, clearomizers, to make sure the problem isn't the cartridge.

Of course I'll inquire with the vendor but I wanted to ask here if anyone has any input regarding the X2's life or what may have gone wrong.

Fortunately for me my Ego Twist kit came today :) but the included info page says the batteries should be ready to use but both appear completely dead. Probably no big deal and they will charge fine but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this occur?

Having a bad battery day! I guess it had to happen sooner or later, just seems a bit too soon.

Have you pushed the button , quickly 5 times in a row to unlock , then 5 times again to lock ?
The other one probably has / had a short . If under warranty , contact the vendor . If out of warranty , just toss it .

Yes, I tried the button at least 5 times in case the issue was the Twist was turned off. The button doesn't light up at all, like I think it's supposed to. I'm hoping the Twists just need charging!

I think the warranty on the X2 was 30 days so I'm checking with the vendor. I've heard Smokeless Image has good customer service so I'm hoping I'll get a replacement.

Thanks for helping me sort this out!

This is where having a DMM (digital multi meter) is a good idea for any vapor's tool box. If the battery is truly dead it's no good. The DMM will tell you that. If it is partially charged it may not have enough power to light up the device but you can still stick it into the charger for a full charging.

So, put those Twist batteries on the charger, watch carefully and see if they take a charge.

It sounds like the X2 electronics are fried. Try to get a refund.

All of these Li-ion batteries seem to be good for 30-40 charge cycles before needing replacement. Standard cylindrical batteries offer serious replacement cost advantage.

When I got my twists, I had to push that button fast far more than 5 times for some reason, but just for the first time. The button didn't light when I was doing it either. After trying it a couple of times, they came to life and have treated me very well since.

Thank you for sharing. I just got the first Twist battery off the charger and it's awesome! :toast:

Also, I already heard back from Smokeless Image regarding replacing the X2. What I've heard about their customer service is true. Excellent!

Having a better battery day now! :vapor:

I considered this when I bought the Twist and decided to go ahead knowing I'll likely buy a mod with replaceable batteries some day.

The point was driven home when the X2 died the same day the Twist arrived ~ irony not lost on me. :?:

glad you got them working . Nothing worse than having no device that works , when your trying to get off the stinky's .
