I haven't had any smoker diss me yet (all my friends are smokers, ALL of them). Most of them seemed interested but are still young enough to not really care about quitting, I'm 21 in case you guys are wondering.

Many applauded me in my effort to quit smoking, while some have that masculinity complex to try to insult me and my "girly ecig" (pink ming drip tip doesn't help, lol).

It's all good though, they know I feel better and they're the ones that smell like .... and feel like crap. I'm sure some of them will come around and try to gain some knowledge from me eventually. Until then, mmmmm Halo Menthol Ice.

I told her "You can keep ya real cigarettes, and ya real inevitable tooth decay and ya real "hot" breath which is messing me up more than Newports ever did. You running ya mouth and I smell nothing but essence of Old couch and wet cat. Plus it's a known fact that a majority of the Discount and "loose" Newports being sold in NYC are counterfeit. As in fake tax stamp bearing, tobacco cut with sawdust and who knows what else counterfeit cigarettes. The next time you have to choose between a pack of cigs and minutes for your phone, I bet you'll think of me and my fake cig.

Awesomely classic, love it… LOL

I used to be one of those smokers who laughed at the e-cig users. A year or so ago I got one of those crappy e-cigs from the gas station. It was absolutely horrible. It tastes like cat pee and every time I used it, the liquid would drip into my mouth. So that one experience convinced me that all e-cigs were crap and e-cig users were posers.

same here. the low end stuff is a joke. never occurred to me that there was a (relative) high end. i guess maybe a couple of years ago there wasn't. but while i was smoking away there were some key steps forward.

i know folks like to dismiss the 'mini cig' form factor because of its inherent limitations, but miniturization is the key to adoption and acceptance. thanks so much to the modders following on with mini versions.

I was outside vapeing over the holidays with real analog users because I don't do it indoors in public as to not create a disturbance and the smoke from one of the analogs kept going in my face. I kept moving but they kept moving along with me so I said "hey stop moving with me your smoke is getting me"- they said "my smoke bothers you?"- and I said "Yea its suffocating me" so another smoker chimes in- "yea he's like all other ex-smokers, they are so obnoxious"------geesh you cant win lol

I had my first experience today vaping in public on the downtown streets of Seattle, during Comicon! LOL. The streets were PACKED with people dressed funny, cosPlay stuff, geek-fest 2012 stuff. I was waiting to cross the street, happily puffing and this guy dressed as the preacher from the Squidbillies cartoon (his girl-buddy dressed as Lilu from 5th Element) who was smoking an analog said to me:

Him: Hey, what's that? (pointing at my PV)
Me: It's a vaporizer. It's helping me quit smoking.
Him: That's totally goofy!
Me: Goofy huh? (looking him and his partner up and down with a wry smile on my face)
Him: Oh come on it's Comicon. And that's still goofy (pointing at my PV)
Me: Ya, but when the Zombie Apocalypse starts, I'm totally going to be able to outrun you because I won't have smokers lungs!

The light changed and my two buddies (both non-smokers, one quit cold turkey 3 years ago) just laughed their butts off as we waltzed across the street.

It was all very light hearted. If we weren't in such a hurry I might have talked to the guy a little longer, but it was just a crush of people downtown today.

I think some of you are too sensitive. I can vape at my desk but, I had lots of people that I used to smoke with. They give me a little ribbing because I don't have to go out any more but, it's all in fun. Really in your situation, if I had time, I would have gone and talked to them. Underneath it all, they probably really want to know more.

In my experience, the ex-smokers tend to have the much stranger reaction. They seem to bounce between being glad I don't smoke to being ticked off that I appear to have done it without suffering as much as they did.

I think if it were under normal circumstances, I totally would have talked more to him, but with the crush of people downtown yesterday (and it was mayhem!) it was cross the street or be flattened like road kill by my fellow pedestrians. And, it's really hard to hold a serious conversation with a 300lb guy, dressed like a giant blueberry holding a bible and a cig. I thought a Zombie Apocolypse reference was fitting for the moment. LOL.

The way I feel about it is that we are pioneers in a new technology.People don't understand it yet.I got worse reactions when I was smoking, people staring at you or telling you to smarten up.I got to the point I was trying to hide my smoking. There are always going to be ignorant people that don't get it.Hopefully it will become more acceptable as time goes by.
