I checked the SmokeTip site last night and noticed that they now list their batteries as 180mAh instead of 250mAh.

Here is what SmokeTip had to say. I think I'm going to try a couple of their batteries soon. They're kind of pricey, but the lifetime warranty helps.

Customer Service, Aug 27 09:22 (EDT):
Our battery is different form others and is our own - Our specs are correct (250mAh).
Thanks!
"LATAKIA", Aug 26 23:42 (EDT):
If I read the battery specs. correctly your SmokeTip batteries are the same length as Vapor4Life "short" KR808D-1 batteries. However the specs state that yours are rated at 250mAh. V4L shorts are rated 180mAh. My question is: Are both of these SmokeTip battery specifications correct? Do you offer short batteries with a longer charge time?

Thank You!

Love my SmokeTip. All my hardware is from them. Two months and no problems. I also refill their cartomizers and find they last and last. I've boiled them clean for new flavors and they come out fresh and ready. I haven't lost one yet. My only problem is deciding which of the "way too many liquids" I bought to try next.

I've been refilling the cartomisers and all. One of my batteries has become intermittent. It will work for a hit or two and then die out. The other doesn't last as long since it goes on the charger more often now. Just got a passthru and it is the bomb.

Send the batteries you're having problems with back for replacement under SmokeTip's no questions asked lifetime guarantee. Be good to know if they honor what their website says.
I agree... the PT is awesome!

How have I missed this topic???! Mr-Phil - I was you - ordered first ever kit in march and still use my SmokeTip - for the first 8 or 10 weeks I was using their pre-filled cartomizers exclusively. My vaping hobby was costing almost as much as my tobacco habit.

Hanging out here on ECF one quickly learns to consider refilling cartomizers.

The only comment I will make is that they do not offer manual batteries as an option - I now use a series of KR8s ... usually manual and have 180, 280, and 380 mah. The automatics are fine and got me off cigarettes but once I tried the manual ... my automatics have been on leave.

You cannot beat Kristi for the best and friendliest customer service found on the planet. She is a rare Diamond.

Thank you for your SmokeTip journal. Keep us posted.

I recently got a couple of "shorty" batteries from Smoketip and am very pleased with them. I ordered from them because their white batteries have orange LED's, so it looks more like an analog (and thus I get pestered less with the "what is that?!?" from random strangers.

The Smoketip batteries charge just fine with my V4L branded PCC.

I have not tried their cartomizers yet but they work wonderfully with my V4L cartomizers.

I just got my smoketip a few days ago and love it. There is one issue, one of the batteries is crap and the charger is crap as well. I emailed them and within 10 minutes told me they were sending me replacements on everything and to not send the old ones back until my issue was fixed, presumably with the new items they are sending. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with them.

Just an FYI, I was having issues with what I thought was my batteries, well it turns out it was the USB jack. I unscrewed it from the housing and voila! It works now.

Sometimes I stil have to unscrew the housing to get it to go again but it does work. I am wondering if the screw puts too much pressure and is binding something???

Anywho, if you are having issues with the Smoketip USB jack, try taking the one screw out and opening it up, I did not touch anything all i did was loosen the screw, with the "top" half removed with screw, I plugged in the USB into the wall charger and it worked. Please note, that when the housing is removed the internals willl fall out if you are not careful with it when pluggin it back into the wall charger.

I do not know how much power goes through the USB, I did avoid touching anything on the inside when I plugged the USB into the wall charger. I can get pics if anyone needs them. NO need to get a shock however small it may be....

and I hope this makes sense.

My SmokeTip battery arrived yesterday. I let it, and a V4L shorty KR808D-1 batt, charge overnight. Today I'm comparing the two of them with KR8 pre-filled cartos. So far, aside from cosmetic differences, (ie: the ST batt is about 1/8 inch shorter than the V4L and has a matte, faux-cig. finish) the only real difference is that the ST has a MUCH, MUCH, lighter draw than the V4L. In fact, the draw is so light that, the switch doesn't always trigger. However, I think that may be more about my vaping style than it is about the battery. I'll update this info later.

I sent both my ST batteries back and within eight days had the replacements. Before sending them I had ordered a ten pack of ST cartos. Once I verified that the batteries were kaput I sent em off.

No time flat and I got em back. Customer service was great as always.

I've noticed the light draw on ST Batts with ST Cartos. I also noticed that the ST cartos don't do so well at 6v. I think they might be really low resistance. In any event, my ST are back in reserve for those times when the PT or 6v isn't an option. Got to love em.

edit: The ST cartos refill with a higher volume than I get with other cartos and work fine in the 5v passthru.

Nobody beats Kristi at customer service. But i have to wonder if Kristi is the name that they assign to all their csr's because she seems to be omnipresent.

I started with ST last Christmas and still use them. After much research, the battery is in fact a 280 and lasts me (a very heavy vaper) 3-4 hours consistently.

They respond to their webpage customer support within minutes, day or night and often send out the replacement batteries while you are communicating with them -NO QUESTIONS ASKED. I have had to send in a set of batteries once and received the replacements in 3 days. I am not aware of any other company that has a lifetime warranty - that alone will keep ST as my KR8 vendor. They also troubleshoot with you for as long as it takes to resolve the issue. They are active on their webpage and answer all questions. They don't have a lot of bells and whistles, but what they do have is quality and consistency and a great customer service department that listens and makes changes according to their customer's suggestions.

The price on their carto's is reasonable considering that it's a 10 pack and easy to refill with the condom method. You also get an automatic discount of $2.00 off of every package after a purchase of 3 packs. I would like to experiment with other carto's though, so if anyone has suggestions...

Coffee is my favorite since it tastes more like mocha then coffee. And nothing that I have tried is as good as the p/t

I'm aware that an automatic is not to everyone's liking, but I love mine. It's a super easy draw without being airy and I have NEVER had a problem with it turning on randomly due to loud noise or whatever - never.

I'm glad to see SmokeTip finally getting some love on this forum. Their website is super easy to navigate, their customer service is unbeatable and their product is solid.

such is my two-cents.

I'm glad you mentioned that. On analogs I was a chain smoker and on my PV i still am when I can. I get about the same out of the batteries you do. I was wondering if mine were average or on par.

Elsewhere I have a clearomizer and dual coil review thread going. Since I bought clearios that were really not suited to 5v or above I am rockin them in the ST batts. Got to love them. I still prefer a higher volt "hit", but these are going strong and I'm kinda glad to be using them regularly instead of just holding on to them for "reserve".
