After you open a bottle of wine, does the alcohol in it start evaporating? | Ask Dr. Vinny | Wine Spectator

From your link FringeChief:

In most cases, while some evaporation would take place, its effect would be negligible. It would take days, weeks or even longer to get any measurable difference in the alcohol content. Because wine doesn’t have much alcohol in it by volume—typically from about 12 to 16 percent—it’s not going to evaporate nearly as quickly as would the same amount of rubbing alcohol. In fact, wine that’s just sitting there evaporating would probably turn into vinegar before it would become alcohol-free.

Which is what I said. Going further to even less ABV (alcohol by volume) of e-juice it would take even longer than weeks or months to have the alcohol evaporate.

Pour a glass of water on your counter and soak it up with a towel. I will claim it evaporated.

It is ridiculous to claim that anything evaporated while the total volume does not change unless you can show what replaced the assumed evaporated ingredients at the exact rate in which evaporation occurred.

So, just to clarify neither of you are willing to pour a shot of liquor and leave it on your counter for a few days and monitor the level of evaporation?

Yet, are still going to claim that evaporation occurs? You are offering false information and obviously do not have the expertise to know better. A simple DIY test could prove to educate you both. And I am asking you to do a high proof test. The results are even more in my favor when talking about the miniscule amounts of alcohol we are talking about in e-juice.

Seriously, you are going to get bent out of shape over this?
What can I say - I picked up the bottle late last week to use a bit for cleaning and thhe DAM* thing was empty!
Maybe a Grimlin got it.
I've been off on a Debilitating injury for 6 months and Rarely leave the house. I stopped drinking over 15yrs ago.
Poof is Poof

Tell me I might be wrong, but don't be so insulting and call me a LIER!!

As to your - Test - sorry, whether the results would be positive or not, I have 3 grandchildren and 2 dogs in the house. Not happening.

At what rate does a spirit such as Vodka evaporate? - Quora

Also:
You have to define what you mean by "extreme" heat, but I'm going to assume we're talking room temperature (20 C, 68 F).

Both water and alcohol will evaporate over time at this temp. This is because, while the average energy of the molecules in a given liquid have an energy equivalent to the specified temperature, in reality there's a distribution of energies across both the water and alcohol molecules. This distribution is described by the Boltzmann distribution.

What this means is that, at any given time, some of the molecules have enough energy to escape their molecular bonds and evaporate into the air. It's worth noting that this doesn't mean the molecule breaks up into its constituent atoms, but just frees itself from the other molecules.

and:
Does the concentration of alcohol affect its rate of evaporation? - Quora
Yes. I affects both the rate of evaporation of just the alcohol and of the overall liquid, assuming you are below the boiling point of water. This is all presuming that water is the diluting agent.

The higher the concentration, the more alcohol is in contact with the air-touching surface, thus more of it evaporates. And since alcohol evaporates faster than water at any temperature below boiling point, the entire liquid will also evaporate faster than other liquids with a lower alcohol content.

Then don't claim your evaporation as fact.

It's that simple.

And no, I am not bent out shape. But stating that you lost 25% volume to evaporation from a sealed plastic bottle encased in another plastic case is not factually true.

Why does water not evaporate in water bottles? Why does alcohol not evaporate in sealed liquor bottles? Is that not the same claim you are making?

Just because when you opened your bottle it was empty does not mean it evaporated.

Not really heated, on my end anyways. Sorry to have hi-jacked your concerns. I think the peppery issue you face is linked to your nicotine. I would start there and work our a process of elimination.
