The AGA-T+ diameter is spot on with the Natural, using a flat edged ruler there is no gap when placed vertical against them.

So does this mean the 1st knurled aga will be spot on as well, or are they different widths?

That really pisses me off. I can't believe madvapes would do that to us. They NEED to organize themselves.

The knurled AGA is a tad larger than the + but its still pretty much level unless you rub your hand across and feel the very very slight edge.

One look at that pic and I new I'd have to grind the 510 post down on the AGA-T to get it near flush on the Top Cap
Yeah, I could back the screw/post off and cut that gap in half; but its for making clouds not magazine pictures

I don't need it to look like its 1 device. If I did, I'd buy a mod that was all 1 piece. someday I will.

I can answer only your first question.
The knurling under the button is because it is the locking ring its very minuet and is more like slight straight vertical cuts, that don't go very deep, and its a whole lot different from the knurling of the AGA.

Most of the GG-ish mods are chrome over brass, and I believe I read something about one of the coops offering a brass-ish gold-plated model. Someone mentioned mixing it with a chrome to get the effect you are looking for.
Since chrome over brass is cheaper than SS, with a little searching you could probably get two ccts mods for 15-20% more than one Natural.

OK so here's what I did. I put in my AW button-top 2000mah 18650. Fits like a charm. I put a 1/16" battery spacer magnet on the AW (1.5mm-ish) and . . . . . . . . that's a bit big. Does it still work? Yes. Are all the seams in the mod screwed together all the way? No. Does it look right for people with Gap-o-phobia? No, the tube sections don't align as nicely when not fully seated. By the way, my AW button-top measures about 65.2 mm (pretty true to its name: 18 mm diameter, 65.0 mm tall = 18650)
