Hey all my vmax bros, how is everyone doing?
I love my vmax, as a matter of fact I am sure I will be buying another one at some point, something shinier or with more functions. So this is in no way meant to bash the vmax and I hope no one takes it as such.

Am I the only one infuriated by the 10 sec shut off????????:glare: I really really hate it. None of my other mods have a shut off, and I guess I never realized how long my vapes are until I got it. It's sort of like daddy telling u u don't need seconds or something like that, lol

Any chance the Z will have a longer shut off?? :D

I know the length of vape time differes from person to person as some love long drags and hate short drags..vice versa. But have you ever considered using more voltage or a lower ohm coil so you don't have to take such a long drag? With the right setup you can get just as much vapor/flavor/TH with a 3-4 sec drag as you can with a 10 sec drag.

You beat me to it. Optimo is spot on with this. I used to take much longer drags before I got the VMax, but I don't need as long a drag to get just as satisfying a vape. Crank up that voltage!

Yeah, it is like the Provari die-hards search all the threads looking for anything to get excited about.

That being said, I bought a Provari blem to see what the fuss was about. I prefer the Vmax on performance by far. But, I am on Vmax number 2. The first one started firing on its own 1 month in. The replacement, about a week old, fell off my desk and I had to re-glue the top on. Now I am afraid to carry it out with me. The Provari hasn't taken any falls yet, but I am guessing it will hold up much better.

If the Vmax was more durable I would probably use it more than any of my other mods. Oh well, it can be my semi-designated desk unit!

Another example of a mass produced device. It's gonna be hit or miss until they get the QC under control.

Quite a set of lungs you must have there :)
On the very rare occasion I might feel that I'm approaching that 10 sec cut off I just let go of the button and instantly re-press it, during the same draw. I can do this in like 1/10 of a second (training for the Vmax Olympics). Last time I did that I felt a little dizzy though....

So thats what the problem has been lately!!!! LMFAO!!!! You would think by the time V3 hit they would've been pretty good at QC by now....

Yup...maybe they will get the QC under control, maybe they won't and there will be VMax's that still fail 5 years from now. Still dosen't make me want a Provari because the VMax will still be better IMO hahahah.

If my VMax failed right now I would just buy another without breaking the bank and love every second of it. It won't though because it's undergone everything you can possibly throw at it and is still working flawless. The only thing that hasn't happend to it is being ran over by something heavier than my ATV that ran over it.

The USA is a very corrupt place and even though I live here I would go to another country in a heart beat if I could afford it. It's the USA's fault everything we have is made in China.

I'd go to the USA in a heartbeat if I could afford it!
After all my protestations, the funny thing is I don't even have a ProVari yet so I wouldn't call myself a die hard.

I guess I just want a device that doesn't make me nervous it won't fire every time I hit the button - The Vmax is a great device but for me, it has it's caveats.

If I hadn't hadn't experienced the failures I probably never would have considered the ProVari - I was really happy with the Vmax beforehand.

Sorry for being snippy.

I hear that...If the same happend to me I prob wouldn't be here bosting how great the VMax is. I guess I got lucky and got a V1 VMax that is rock solid. I'm sure there's tons of others that have got rock solid VMax's as well and lots of others that have had the same problem you have had.

The Reef just off the Florida coast
And now back to how awesome the VMax paired with the Phoenix RA is...

I can blow a 10+ foot stream of the best tasting vapor ever with a single 3 ohm coil at 5+ volts. :vapor:

Somebody give me a cookie.

But, Optimo, you do realize that isn't the Vmax creating that vapor, right? You do understand that the Vmax is just spitting out electricity, not fairy dust, right? You do understand that any PV that is putting out the same voltage will give you the same vapor, right? Right.

If I had another device that output the PWM voltage like the VMax then I would be vaping that as well...but all other box mods, tube mods, whatever that I have just feel weak in comparison to the VMax. Take a 3 amp Lavatube and set it to 6 volts it vapes about like the VMax does at 3.7 volts.

So the answer to your question is yes and no. If you have a device that is outputting a true 5 volts underload and put it up aginst another device with the same amp limit/circurity and same 5 volts underload and use the same ohm atomizers then the vapor would be the same. If you take two different devices that has different amps and circurity and set them at the same voltage with the same atomizers then no the vapor will not be the same.

It doesn't bother me too much.

I just take 2-3 puffs instead of one long.

Roto, you are back to your AC measurements again. There is no "DC Equivalent Voltage" in a DC wave train. It is DC.

Actually, the opposite. You can't measure a PWM voltage using AC measurement tools. You can't use DC measurement either. :)

I don't own a Provari yet, nor have I seen a picture of its output. but, in another thread you mentioned that the Provari has filtered PWM output. From my measurements the Vmax definitely doesn't have filtered output.

With my few tests with filter circuits attached to the Vmax, I see aproximately +1v higher Vout than the display setting at 3v. It's the best aproximation I've seen to explain the excessive power at the low end. I'm far from satisfied with my results so far, but I'll nail it down.

Well helloo0O0oo their .....where ya been ? Long time no see...talk...type...post ....write. Everything going good in your part of the woods ? I completely agree with the 10 sec. cutoff.....HATE IT LIKE A FLAT TIP DRIP TIP !!!!

If it just had 5-7 more sec it would be perrrrfect ! And before I get the crank up the voltage hit....I do on some juices but the 2 favorite juices I use the carto/coils last longer at a lower voltage and the juice just taste better at that same low voltage. I just think any and every device should have atleast a 15-20 sec cutoff it at all. Thats 1 thing I loved about my Fistpaks...NO CUTOFF AT ALL !!! LOVE IT !!! Anyway, very nice to hear from you again Lethalp, don't be a stranger and take care out there.

Hey Turtle....Have you went and got a VMAX yet ? I'm guessing you have.

So I got a bit of mail today.

- 1 Phoenix R.A. -----> AWESOME !!
- 5 Phoenix Bottom coil tanks (GV) ----> Not too shaby either
- 8 Vivi Nova Mini's -----> AWESOME !!
- 8 3.2 Ω Nova heads
- 20 yds. 4mm super FAT wick

Optimo I haven't even rebuilt this Phoenix R.A. yet or even put it on the VMAX due to the 2Ω coil and on my out-an-about 14650 Epower with IMR's inside this thing is nutzzz ! I would've never in a million years thought this much vapor could be produced by a atty so small. I put 20 drops in it 30 min. ago and still going crazy strong. I can't believe I can compare this $20 R.A. to my $100+ dollar DiD R.A. as far as Vapor and the WOW flavor production. With every draw my mouth salivates. I thing is really going to go insane after I throw one of my coil/wick builds on it.
Thanks for the great tip about this R.A. .... Money well spent. Actually I didn't even buy it, my good friend freddie sent it to me out of a co-op for $5 ea. Even better. I've got to send him a real nice gift for sending me such a solid product.
