I haven't acctually weighed them both myself side by sidebut I think the provari V2 is easily twice as heavy both with batteries in. As far as the SS VMAX to the copper/brass, I would think the SS would be heavier than the chrome dipped brass. Brass/copper is a much better conductor than SS is also...by far. If you like I can get the raw numbers for ya if this isn't enough. The VMAX is SUPER LIGHT that I can assure you. .....J[/QUOTE

If anyone can chime in why it would matter, Brass/Copper vs Stainless Steel as a conductor ?
Thanks everyone this thread has been an education!!

Ok so "VMAX protection and stacked Batteries",

I've got some very detailed tests, pdf files and some other resources on this particular when I 1st got the Chrome version around 5, maybe 6 months ago. Now according to the files I received, The Vmax might have went a step further with protection than some of the other manufacturers. Now please bare in mind, I have data from and on the VMAX...not the other mods that run a stacked setup. Am I saying the others don't have this technology inside...ABSOLUTELY NOT !! All im saying is the VMAX data says it does. I wish I had some detailed data on some of the other stacked units so I could compare side by side for sure.

Ok, so the VMAX does indeed have multiple levels of protection, and not just because it's a stacked setup but because it's become a industry standard in electronic type devices. That's a good thing. The VMAX has over-discharge, under-discharge, and here's the one that goes the extra mile to make sure your safe...it monitors both batteries individually constantly in real time to keep them discharging evenly. That is a very nice safety feature. It flashes a "Lo" warning when the batteries reach 3.2v each, 6.4v total between the 2. Now I've noticed (in testing ONLY) if you use knock off IMR batteries (which you should NEVER do,and shame on you if you are) it will kick the "Lo" warning on early around 7.1-7.4v just to make sure your not, and the device is not over-discharging the batteries. Thats a nice feature also. All in all I trust this device. I use this device, actually I put every other device I have away, this is what I use exclusively...that's is !!! Nothing else, and I will continue to till it stops working and I can't foresee that happening anytime in the near or distant future.

Now I did see a comment made by Matrix I think, if not then please disregard. Something about the smallest wires he ever saw in the top cap. Now I will admit they are a bit on the small side to be pushing 5 amps, but the "BOLT" wires are even smaller and I know a few people that stack to 3.0v batteries in those and use them all day at 6V with a 1.5 ohm DC with no issue. So if those small wires can handle that on a pure mechanical type setup, Im not going to doubt the VMAX can handle a 5 amp current in those wires with the aid of a pretty impressive chipset. And maybe the fact I've tested this device on a lot more than a handy dandy handheld portable Oscilloscope. But your absolutely right, the wires are a bit small. lol. This device has impressed me from the 1st day I got it months ago. And still impresses me to this day. And believe me I was one of the ones ready to tear it to pieces inside and out. But the truth is when I got to putting it thru the tests I was simply amazed. Then I was doubtful so I put it on my LeCroy 312-A Wavejet 100 mHz Osciloscope to double check the data. Needless to say...the raw numbers were accurate. I tried every combination and test I could throw at it and it just didn't fail. Not even a hickup.

To be China made, Smoktech did their R&D on this one. And it obviously paid off. Anymore questions ?...... And oh yeah about questions on this thread..... Im going to type a statement that every single person reading should've been taught in grade school and I'm going to leave it at that : " THE ONLY STUPID QUESTION IS THE ONE THAT IS NOT ASKED " This is a forum for Q & A . And more than that the name of this thread is "tip, tricks and quirks" all 3 of those words invite and derive mainly off questions. Please people for future reference ASK QUESTIONS, especially if your new to vaping or just new to the VMAX...but ASK QUESTIONS. Their are plenty of places to ask questions and get bad answers not to mention bad information all together on the ecf. In this thread I feel we are striving to get GOOD, ACCURATE, and TRUE INFORMATION out to our VMAX family. Please NEVER discourage anyone from asking any question.... ever. Thank you for your cooperation @ VAPN J enterprises and for your continued support. Tonk you and do com again':p lol...lol .... Take care everyone J

Oh and ! more quick response, it's not that the SS VMAX will be less powerful, or less anything with it being SS over copper/brass. It's strictly that copper and brass do conduct better electricity thru the metal than SS would. The outer body of the VMAX and most all tube mods act as a ground, so "hypothetically" the copper/brass unit could have less resistance in the ground side than the SS Version. More than likely it won't matter one little bit and won't affect it or the peformance at all, it was just a tid bit I thru out there and maybe I shouldn't have. Does that make sense ? Did I explain that good enough ? Or was that my 1st epic fail. If you need more detail or anology/explanation just let me know, would be my pleasure. Alright folks.... thats enough for me for 1 day. .....J

Fadly, For the price the VMAX is now compared to the LT's, this thing blows them clean out of the water !! Spend the extra cash for a VMAX, you won't be disappointed in the least little bit....right folks ???!!!! I'll let some other VMAX users tell you more about it but if your looking for what you described in your above/previous post. This is the device your looking for, and probably the last device you will want to buy for some time... unless your a mod collector. Alright folks ...tell this member all the good stuff about this device.

Sorry for my English

Your English is fine!

The vmax sounds like an excellent option for you. Yes, it has an ohm-checker that is reasonably accurate. It also has a battery volt checker.

Where this device does exceptionally well is in its ability to generate high performance if you need it, particularly for dual coil attachments. Most will tell you that so far it has been extremely dependable and 'just works' like you expect it to (and more).

You really do appreciate the vmax if you have multiple devices. All my others feel 'weak' in comparison and the vmax is also my #1 mod. I just also bought an Innoken iTaste mainly because it looks cool, particularly next to my iPhone  Its performance is totally out-classed by the vmax.

If I could only keep one mod it would be my vmax (or 2).

Went to change the batteries in my max today and it won't come back on!!!

So I tried putting the other batteries back in and still nothing!

It did the same thing when I first put batteries in it, but I kept trying and it came on, but now nothing.,. No blue light.

Anyone else have this happen? Can anyone help please?

Just looked up the G-Tank. Fascinating design. About time we had more innovation for rebuildables.
What resistance do you set your coils at for the vmax J?

I like mine at 2.8-3.2 ohm. Right now I CAN NOT recommend this GT-US at all. This thing is DIFFICULT !!!!!! User friendly my A*5 !!!!!! I can't taste anything remotely close to my juice, the ohms keep jumping from 1.9 - 3.0 ohms, the draw is no different than taking a drag off a wide open straw, NO BACK PRESSURE AT ALL , and I like a airy draw, but this is crazy. Very little vapor production. EPIC FAIL so far for me. My DID R.A. will be here tomorrow I think, if it's the same as this Im running them over in my new Cadi CTS-V coupe till they look like they perform. Yes I AM PI*5%#* !!!!!!!! OFF to say the least !!!!

Damn that sucks, I'm looking forward to hearing what you think about the did cause I have one shipping to me on Monday. If you like the did there is a user named kir fanis who runs gr-modders and he is making clear tanks for it in the next week. Just an fwi, not sure if you want a clear tank but I like the idea of being able to see whats left in there. Also just got an email and I assume you did too but they are now making a short tank for the did too that holds about 2ml's.........just ignore all this if that sucker pisses you off tomorrow lol.

This is a 1st for me. I would keep tryin I guess, look for ANY reason internally why this would happen, but dont take it apart and void the warranty. Just look inside to see if the brass positive terminal has been moved from it's center position, or anything you might be able to see with a flashlight looking into it.....Otherwise I would be calling the vendor for a replacement 1st thing tomorrow. Smoktech has a 6 month warranty on these and the vendor has to honor atleast that.

The 3 volt ver2 models turn lcd screen off when changing batteries. It also defaults to 3 volts so it may seem like its not working. The lcd screen needs to be turned on

Wouldn't the button still light up though?

Seems like there is a bug in the chip set for this to be happening or possibly a bad connection at the spring or positive tit??

Thanx mate. Btw is yours version 2?.. Never saw a chrome with blue led before

Thanx for clearing up for me.. Will look further on this thread before i get some fund to buy vmax, maybe will wait for blue led version if it available
