I am going to order one of those Phoenix atomizers as I feel that I'm done tinkering with the smok rebuildable. I have come to the conclusion that I don't like top coil anything. GV has them for $14.95, seems reasonable of them.

They're awesome...

I have the Avalon from Phoenix mods (rebuildable atty with a tank) and its pretty sweet.

I must still be a little "charged" from yesterday, I must have canceled at least 10 posts during those "trying times", but it felt good to type them even though I didn't post them.

If any of them had the dread word P*****i in them then you did everyone on this board a favor? :)

I found this at GotVapes in their Alpha section, is the Avalon anything like this?View attachment 125536

Yeah kinda, except the Avalon got a tank..

The one in the pic looks more like my bully from Peleon. (a rebuildable atomizer without a tank. Its made for dripping)

I may take another try at mesh wicks, does VG do a better job (than PG) of putting the final "finish" on it ?

I say and use pg as my last 2 processes. PG holds and transfers flavor much better than vg, that's why most flavorings are pg based. All I really do now is torch the mesh real good before rolling it.....then roll it up......2 torch and quenches in pg,letting burn off slowly......then 1 or 2 slow burns with the juice I plan to fill the tank with.........after good and dry but cooled 3 wraps of rollin' paper (any papers will do)......wrap a 3/4 or 4/5 coil with 28, 30, 32, 33, or 34awg kanthal (depending which atty, how much room I have to work with on the mesh between terminals to get the resistance I want, and what device I plan to use it on [usually mechanical due to that's what RBA's were originally designed to be used with from the start] ). This rather quick process has served pretty well with little to know shorts or hotspots and impeccable flavor re-production.

I will order Phoenix RB probably in the wee hours of this coming morning. What I have in mind for a wick is ss under coil with cotton running through it. I think my shorting problems with ss on ViVi RB was when I would tighten screw on post it tended to want to pull wire to tight on mesh. I am going to use coffee filter paper next as I had funny feeling pulling cigarette out of my wife's pack to get the paper. Thanks

Hey Dw,I have the phoenix rba and am currently using 100% egyptian cotton thread i got from hobby lobby and 1.5 ohm 32g kanthal. It is literally the best vape I've had since i started Jan. 2011.I like the idea of cotton inside ss mesh, but you have to keep cotton wet at ALL TIMES.On the +side it holds a lot of nicuid.Oh,yeah, got mine from VB(vapor.....)

Any suggestions for voltage on 1.5 ohm dual coil cartos and 2.8 ohm fusion cartos? Seeing how I've never dealt with the "single " button like the ss vmax or that other more expensive mod :) would rather try what has/does work for someone else and go from there thx

I run my 1.5DC (when I use them on the Vmax) around 3.5-3.7 depending on the juice. My 2.8's I really like at 4.2 no matter what the device or juice.

Hey Lava....On my Fusions I usually stay at 3-3.5 volts, just start off at 3v and after 2-3 draws go up in .1v increments till you get that sweet spot you prefer. On dual coils I find that the 2.0, 2.5, and 3.0Ω ohm Dual Coils perform much better than the 1.5Ω DC's on the VMAX. I use the 2Ω DC's mostly at 4-4.4v, I think Fuzzi runs the 2.5Ω at 4.5v, and the 3.0Ω I run at 4.5-4.8v. Hope this helps.

** This is the main reason Fuzzi started this thread** Perfect example of a ideal post Q & A.....I think ...lol
