Can you just use thermal grease like used on integrated circuits and headsinks? It is non-conductive so that might be a problem using that.

Yes and no. Do not use adhesive thermal paste. That is all ;)

I use Arctic Silver non adhesive grease on PC's but haven't vaped it yet, so to speak.. 99.9% silver lube

Yes, but if you are using a low or regular resistance atomizer wouldn't you get a similar vaping experience with a single 18650 battery but at a slightly higher voltage or wattage setting? It seems like this would come into play more with a high resistance atty that is requiring a higher voltage.

If it went to 7 volts then I would have probably set it to that when using the single battery, 2.5 ohm dual coil ( 5 ohm coils) are all I have until tomorrow when my 3 ohm single coil Fusions arrive. I suspect they will work fine with the single battery. Actually the 2.5 DC's worked pretty good on single battery but worked better with two batterys.

more bashing..
guys if you cant handle its power, you can allways buy a provari..

They do come across as uber fan boys without any trace of unbiased evaluation of pwm devices. They cannot even say it right. The fat guy called it "pmw" before I turned it off out of disgust.

If you all haven't already you NEED to go to Lowes or Home Depot and get a simple product called Noalox and put "1" BB sized drop on a Q-tip then run it around the threads on the "tube". Then with no batteries in your V/Zmax screw 1 or both end caps on and off a few times till everything is "evenly" coated. This helps with smoothing over the threads, quieting the threads, keeps threads buttery smooth and helps with conductivity.

GO GET NOALOX !

thanks didnt know home depot had it just picked some up.

OK everyone, here’s what the pros use 760G NyoGel Lubricant , we don’t like the conductive stuff working with boards that plug in, can’t be making any shorts between pins.
You would think that doesn’t matter with flashlights but the LED Light forums have concluded that NyoGel works better than the conductive lubs on their high $ flashlights. Seems the biggest thing is to get a lube (notice Vaseline is working for those who just use it) and an anti corrosion layer that doesn’t interfere with current flow. They think the conductive additives can get in the way and cause more corrosion down the road.
Now Noalox is better than nothing for sure but people who OCD about this stuff go with NyoGel, it’s all I use and have fixed/improved everything from 1000 amp motor lead plug ins to video cards with it.
PS if you order get this Streamlight Stylus Pro 2 x AAA C4 LED Penlight finest 2x aaa LED light made, and yes I’m a Fan Boy

Amazing how they can come back and back again with the same arguments using diff. devices!

OK'OK, we all know it puts out an xtra volt at low settings! And that at 5V its putting out 5V!

Who vapes at 3V on a VV device anyways?

I whip out coils from 2.6 and up and set the damn thing to 4+,and that is how it should be used

I love our reviews/videos/whatever community!

I believe this "problem" is why I and many others like the Max's so well, and no warm up drag needed either. IMO

Dang this is a seriously bias thread LOL this stuff is cray

The title of the thread is "Smoktech ZMax Owners - Pics., Tips, Tricks and Quirks." If people want to expound upon the incredible benefits of their Provari's and other PVs then they can participate in a thread for their favored PV. Most of the people here want to know about the ZMax and how IT performs, not how great another PV is compared to it. I cannot afford a Provari. I extended myself ordering my ZMax last night, so I am interested in how my ZMax will perform when I receive it next week and how I can have a great vaping experience with a ZMax. It is not biased but this thread is intended for discussion of the ZMax.

As you can see I own both so why would I get into all that? I didn't even mention Provari, btw. Why did you?

But ya, I'm wondering about the VW feature. I know how to use it and set it, but I don't know much else about it. What's so good about it? I'd like to know more about this feature that I possess.

VW, which I have been using almost two years, allows the device to automatically adjust the voltage to maintain the wattage setting. Say, you have a 2.0 ohm carto that you are vaping at 8 watts....and you decide to put on a 3.0 ohm carto...VW will automatically adjust for the difference to maintain the 8 watts setting, thus you do not have to adjust any settings....

that's the short answer...hope this helps...
