Really, boys ... can we dump all the drama? This is getting really boring, and as much as I generally dislike interference from the mods, I'm beginning to think it's about time ... can y'all just agree to disagree and let it go? Please?

Ok - I'd like to let it go actually. I'm not a boy btw. :) Seems I"m the only girl here.

You might want to add post 1244 and 1246....kinda completes the 2 posts you list here....if you do not want to add these, thats fine with me

Well you just kinda did add them. :) I haven't gone back to look at them again. I think people would like to move on. The whole thread is here if anyone is so inclined.

Looks like they've got the v2 in stock there. I've never dealt with that vendor but I went ahead and ordered one to see how well the rms function works. I'll put it through it's paces just like I did with the V1 and let you guys know here.

I always buy from them and never had a problem, they ship fast to Brazil!!

I have the terrible feeling that the 8th menu will just display RMS voltage readings instead of "average" voltage - and nothing else.

Probably will be just a reading. Easier to install a read out than putting in extra for regulation. If they have the extra. Be nice if they did of course.

I thought it might be useful to put pbusardo's vid on vavg and vrms here. Some folk may not have seen it. I've been wondering if the Zmax has become a bit of a focus because people want improvements with consistency across vv or vw devices overall. The provari comes in very accurate on voltage and wattage in his video. The exploding head cracked me up. I guess if numbers are your side of the coin having a vrms readout would at least give you something to work off - but then you are still back to calculating by accessory ohms and voltage and then setting your desired watts. It doesn't bother me but I wouldn't say no to any good developments either. As long as the prices don't hike. I liked Scott's point in his post a while back about wanting consistency across devices.

I have a feeling it'll just say RMS on or off and not really do anything. We'll see though.

Just adding it as an 8th menu is a really cheesy way to do it in my opinion. When the Z first came out I didn't really appreciate the VV and VW options. I thought it was redundant but once I had the first one I kind of liked the option. Again, here though, I don't see a point in average or RMS as a selectable option. It should just be RMS for accuracy

You lost me a bit here. My understanding is PWM is the circuitry, and RMS is the measurement. So PWM is how it runs, RMS is the most accurate measurment right now. To get consistency between output and measurement (reading) is the development needed. The Provari has it - but what is the circuitry they use?
And if that circuitry is added to a range of devices that currently don't have it - what will happen to the prices - or I guess what I'm asking is - is that part of the reason the provari costs more?

You are correct. I didn't proof read. Should be VAVG or VRMS (the V's are optional as long as we all know we're talking about voltage)

I'll edit it.
