When I got my Zmax I had been using DC tanks @ 2.5 ohm and 6 volts on the Zmax was not as hot as 5 volts on my Vmax so I went with the stacked set up and now they are pretty much equal in power, well duh i could have just bought some 2 ohm DC cartos like I did last week and achieved the same "vape" on the Z @ 6volt using the 2 ohms one. A couple other things though I don't recommend it ( just my disclaimer) when I use a 18650 battery I used the extended cap as I don't carry the short one with me and I use candle wax on the threads of the caps on all my mods. I am more interested to see if V2 Zmax stops firing when you release the button than I am with the 8th sub-menu. If they bothof those things right that would be great.

I'd love accuracy with the V2 but if it's lacking in this department it won't be a deal breaker.
I'm more concerned with being able to go low with voltages - the 3 volt real voltage levels on the 18650 is still too high, especially when it comes to rebuildables.

If the Chinese can get the Kgo VV batteries to work at the correct levels up to 6 volts I don't know why Smok can't do it.

Just emailed a company in Germany that has the V2 in stock asking about the 8th menu - the reply;

you can change the setting to "RMS" at the 8th menu...then it displays the right setting.
Best regards,

Patrick

Basically just a feature to show how inaccurate the voltage display is:oops:

I'm now going to try to park a motor-home in a one car garage (3mm wick w 32g nichrome in a Vision ET) contact, oh boy, it came out to only 1.5 ohms, wanted 2.4 area but expected 2 ohm. that leaves Max and his brother out, have to summon cousin LT

testing, testing
Switched it over to Vmax @3volt, chained it for a while, all good.
Zmax should be just fine with it with the 18650 set up.
I can get away with this LR because of the large amount of juice residing in the coil, with a lesser diameter wick I don't think it would taste good with that much heat.
Hope I don't start up another rumble but I shall deem this device the "Poor-man's Penelope".
Accually I've never even seen a Penelope let alone vaped one but this thing is outrageously good

I use genesis atty's on my zmax with an 18650 all the time with coils as low as 1.3 ohms with no issues at any of the wattage settings. I have never popped a coil.. I mainly use 32 gauge but at times will use 36 gauge. Take it for what it's worth. Dont really use sillica that much anymore but when i do never had anyissues even at 1.5 ohms

The questions is does it only display what it is outputting or does the settings display change from 3 to 15 watts rms

Presently it doesn't display what it's out putting. It displays what it's set to output. Same with the ProVari if anyone is keeping score. I think the RMS option will just change the internal math calculating the Pulse Width to use. Hopefully, that will mean what is set, and therefore what is displayed, will be the same as what's being delivered.

By the sounds of things it just displays what the Zmax is really putting out - 3 watts with the 18350's would be around 13 watts.
Supposedly the 18350 "overpower" problem is fixed with the V2, actual wattage at 3 watts on the 18650 is still more like 6/6.5 watts.

What I want is 3 watts = 3 watts, etc.

Telling the user what the actual voltage/wattage is all well and good but it doesn't address the fact the some eliquids don't like higher power.

I own the Zmax v1 and it has fired on its own and got stuck firing while going through the menu functions. I have exchanged it three times and all three units have done this. Lucky me I spoke to the vendor where I purchased it and they told me that when the they get the V2 the will exchange it for me.

Well I have to admire your patience. I think if I had the same pv faulty three times I'd be feeling pretty irritated, to say the least.

Yes, three strikes and you're out. For me, it's usually two strikes and you're out. You know---fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

By the way, I'm enjoying my red Acrylimax VW clone quite a bit after a couple weeks. I did have some trouble with a brand-new never-used Vivi Nova tank recently, in which the juice (Copper Creek Cake) began tasting burnt on Day Two of vaping it no matter how low I set the wattage. Maybe the 5.0 watts I initially used fried the 2.4 ohm coil. The burnt taste was present when I subsequently tried the Vivi Nova on a bunch of different PVs, too, so I presume that something got weird with the coil head. At any rate, two days is unacceptable, so I banished the Vivi Nova back to the parts drawer with all the other carto and syringe tanks that don't perform as they should. Before cleaning and sending the Vivi Nova to purgatory, I dumped the juice into a 1.8 ohm Kanger T2, and that T2 is still vaping with lovely flavor on the Acrylimax at a setting of 4.0 watts after three days of sporadic use.

I especially like the way the Acrylimax plastic feels warm in my hand rather than the cold-metal feel of my Vmax V2.

Yeah, it's the Copper Creek juice. I vape House and Coffee from them a lot and it will kill a Vivi Nova in under 1 day for me. A bottom-feeder with an AVA atty is the only thing that I've found to work well with Copper Creek juice. I wonder if it has sugar in it?

Well it still works fine.. just has a mind of its own at times... I have a Vmax V2 and my ProVari which I use as well, so I can hold on to it until the Zmax V2 arrives and just fry a carto now and then with my Zmax V1. lol

There is that thing, and mine does it, where the carto activates at very low voltage when in Ohms mode on display change - which it is supposed to do. Mine hasn't got stuck or anything though - it just does what it should.

Dang, I put up a pic in the toppers thread and then realized it's for the top parts, not the actual mod.

So I'll put it here. Nice to have a visit from the mod every so often...

Click on the pic for the normal view. Using the 2.8 ohm in the vivi. Down at 4 watts - quite low but the best taste I've had with the Mt. Baker Vaper cafe coffee. As you can see I have the side vented version so I matched the drip tip with the red. Now I need new shoes...
