He's talking about the CGR18650-CH hybrid cells. They are unprotected and button top. That is the only way you can buy them. They are a almost exactly 65mm in length.
Before you get dogged... Jackbox is right. Technically they ARE wide button tops, they make contact + to - when end to end (stacked).

But... there are some 'after market' modded ones for sale here.

MarK73 - The ones with the small buttons and protection circuits are add ons after they leave Panasonic (eg. Orbitronic, Kali's, ShekGB, etc.)

The ZMax has built in protection and it was designed to be used with unprotected batteries. The vendor I bought mine from recommends unprotected batteries only. Batteries with protection circuits will most likely be too long for the stock end cap. If you want to use protected batteries the extended end cap might be a better choice as it allows for longer cells.

Actually I have 8 of them, all purchased from Super-T. 6 are flat-top and 2 are button-top (needed for my Provari) but both kinds are still labeled CGR18650CH. you can see that the button-top is longer:

Apparently I need to dust under my Chromebox more often! :(

Correct, you should not be using protected cells in these types of devices!

Do you mean button top and nipple top? The flat top is the same as button top. Button top is the correct terminology for the flat top style. A photo of the positive ends wold be appreciated to see the difference.

I'm not sure now...? I'm just going by what Super-T refers to them as: Super T Manufacturing, Innovative manufacturer of electronic cigarette products.

Looking straight down at the tops you can't really tell any difference, but the button-top has another piece bonded to the top with another button that sticks up further.

Actually anything that'll make contact end to end, + to -, is a button top. If they don't it's a 'flat top'. Nipple top is a misnomer.
Battery, button or flat top

@MarK73: Well thanx, news to me. I've never seen the taller ones with the Pani label still on them. I'll bet he got them to do it based on some minimum order. Like 1000. I've heard that at that point they'll make it how u want.

Could be, but GotVapes also sells both types, so who knows...?

The ones from Callie's Kustoms Skipdashu sir are only flat top unprotected hybrids, they add their label but nothing else.

There are protected versions being sold by a few vendors (supert, gotvapes, rtdvapor to name a few), but have never used one. The flat and button tops both fit without issue in the zmax, if the protection circuit is as long as the one they use on the 3100mah protected cells could easily see how that one would have issues fitting. Again see no point using a protected cell in a zmax or anything other than a high drain battery.

That and you shouldn't be using anything other than Efest or AW IMR batteries with it also. Anything else will ruin the ZMax experience ime.

I have only used positively charged electrons in my Zmax. It won't accept the negative ones but I'm guessing that's a good thing.

You do realize you're dealing directly with a company from China, right? Why would you order it from China when there are more than a few dealers here in the US that sells it? The Chinese are not the swiftest to reply to e-mails!!!

Sorry, didn't realize it was V2......

I bought my first VMAX (black v2) from them and received it fairly quickly. After about 2 months it fried. I contacted them and returned it and they sent me a new SS VMAX V4. At first they said I had to wait for my return to showup and that they only check and receive stuff from there customs every 2 months. I said that was not good enough and they then sent it ASAP. All in all they have always returned my e-mails( sometimes it took 2-3 days) so I would have to say for being in China their customer service is pretty good.
