I could not resist, it was ,basically the price of a SS Vmax, $103.64 shipped w/ extension cap.

Ooo er ... I just did the same. With the 20% off it is a good deal. Got the extension cap also. Had to think about it because I'm quite happy with v1. But at that price it's a good second VW at $100. Both should see me through the next year. I actually really like my chrome one so will see how I find the ss.

They are a registered forum supplier so should be ok.

I had read that the v1 wobbles when standing up and expected that. But mine doesn't, not even a bit. Which was a nice surprise. I'm wondering if they used two different caps?? Mine is chrome.

My v1 is chrome and it definitely wobbles. The end cap is rounded, not flat.

They must have used two different caps jackbox. Mine is flat and no wobbles at all. The edges are very slightly curved but the bottom is flat. I have a pic of it standing up:

I just got my SS VMax V2 yesterday and at first I was very frustrated with the Menu being as all my other VV have three buttons and are very easy to use. After becoming more familar with the menu and figuring out the VW setting I really like it a lot! It is very well made and a perfect weight for me. I'm also using the extension cap with my 18650 batteries. It fits much better in my lanyard than my LT does. I'm a happy camper and enjoying my birthday present to myself!

Well Happy Birthday TTW. The menu is a snap after you get use to it, and if the longevity holds up on these new version Max's ... you bought yourself a nice present. SMOK working out the VRMS issue is huge.

Hope you have/had a great BD!:toast:

This is just an observation and "MY" opinion but.......

It amazes me that for all the fuss V/Zmax owners had over the price of a Provari, there are an awful lot of them that own multiple V/Zmax devices!!! I don't get it that $200 bucks for an APV is way too much money, but there is no problem with buying 2+ versions of these devices. I remember when the V/Zmax pricing was announced and a lot of owners had a problem with the price point Smok set for it. It was too expensive @ $119.00 and yet there are as, (I mentioned), so many that own multiple devices and not because they are a quality unit or such, but because they added a new function or menu to it. Not to mention all the problems with caps, springs, bodies, and menus!!!

When I first ordered my Zmax, it was with the idea that it might be a fun toy to play with, and since I got it much reduced in a great co-op, I figured I couldn't get burnt too badly. The co-op was for the first, 7-menu version, but Shekinahsgroom, the co-op organizer, got us the second, 8-menu version at the same price! Outstanding co-op, and I just had to plug a great co-op host ... but I digress ...

Now that I have the version 2 Zmax with the accurate RMS option, this has moved out of the "interesting toy" category into the "serious device" realm! It now shares equal time with my ProVari and my Kicked Legacy as part of my daily vaping arsenal. Now, we will see if it can match its performance with some longevity ...

Here's my prediction: after seeing the success of the Zmax, ProVape will come out with their own VW device before the end of the year. I think they will almost have to, or lose some SERIOUS market share ... the RMS Zmax really rocks!

I agree completely; I own both zmax's, a provari, and countless other devices. Competition is good for US I never understand why provari guys come here saying that the zmax is a bad device and is bad for all us vapers. It can only lead to more competition and better devices for us to play with :)

I am a multiple device victim! Vmax/Zmax/Zmax 2/but you can bet that I have a ProVari too! Now I need a mini ProVari, a Darwin and a bigger wallet since I want a rebuildable now!

Day after day I keep telling myself I don't need another device. I don't know how much longer I can keep this up...

Wattage testing with a single 18650 and 2.5ohm single coil carto-

With RMS on-

3w- 2.77v, 1.1a, 2.5ohms= 3.06w
6w- 3.96v, 1.58a, 2.5ohms= 6.27w
9w- 4.79v, 1.91a, 2.5ohms= 9.17w
12w- 5.46v, 2.18a, 2.5ohms= 11.92w
15w- 6.09v, 2.43a, 2.5ohms= 14.83w

Without RMS on-

3w- 3.36v, 1.34a, 2.5ohms= 4.51w
6w- 4.29v, 1.71a, 2.5ohms= 7.36w
9w- 5.13v, 2.05a, 2.5ohms= 10.52w
12w- 5.89v, 2.35a, 2.5ohms= 13.87w
15w- 6.22v, 2.48a, 2.5ohms= 15.47w

The RMS function again makes it far more accurate than without, but again it's not too far off with the single 18650 (used a Callie's Kustoms 2250mah panasonic hybrid for this test just as with the prior). Up next are the numbers with 2 AW 18350's.
