But it's still recessed right? And it fires OK? No auto fire problems?

Since somebody posted their hobo combo I gotta do another pic lol

Hobo is one of my shortest rda's, now if I could just find a cuff cap for it might become an everyday atty. For now I stick with the Stillaire.

I have a cherry vape wide bore friction fit tip on now and it's pretty good. I feel like with a chuff you might get way too much spit back. Don't u think?

Weird, my Hobo clone has a super long 510 and needed a spacer (stole from my Pollux) to even think about working on the SMPL. Killer rig though. Just had to learn to look past the black ring between it and the mod.

Anyone else thinking about getting some 22mm washers because they want the button to recess more?

Where'd you get your hobo clone and who makes it?

I was just doing a rebuild tonight on my HCIGAR hobo and the positive post started to spin...I'm so mad. When I looked at the 510 it looked a little too close to the threads for comfort on the smpl so I unscrewed it a little. I wonder if that's what made the center post spin. I tightened it back up and finished my build and then backed the 510 out a little again.

They must all be different because my other hobo clone also made the button stick out on my smpl. Keep in mind though that I have the magnet switch smpl and it's already been shown that this version has a taller switch than the spring version.

I think my Hobo is a Infinite clone. I'll have to check though, been awhile since I bought it. I bet your loose posi screw is what made the center post spin. Had the same happen on one of my attys once. You'll have to tighten the screw when you build then loosen before mounting to the SMPL. A better solution is to shorten the negative threads of the 510 so the screw can be tight and protruding at the same time. Just did that on my Arctic tank so it'll run on the SMPL.

The positive post on my Hobo is plenty long for hybrid use. The 510 overall is way too long. It doesn't work on my Stingray X in regular OR hybrid mode. Doesn't sit flush on my IPV3 or my Sigelei Mini 30. It only works on my Sentinel actually. With a spacer it'll work on any of the hybrids I have.

Mine is HCigar and the pin doesn't look very long to me but it won't screw down into my istick 30 enough for it to even read it. When I look at the tightened pin it looks like it only sticks out barely enough to use on a hybrid

P.S.-

I just ordered a Troll v1.5. Has anyone here have experience using one on a smpl?

I used a troll 1.5 on my copper a-mod SMPL without issue. I have since gotten rid of the troll, but it worked fine.

I need some help. Both my SS SMPL clones worked flawlessly for a few weeks. Two days ago BOTH of the switches in them started to get HOT after a few times firing them. I mean really hot, like extremely uncomfortable to push bordering on a minor burn. It doesn't seem to matter what build or atty I use and both are all of a sudden doing this. They were my two favroite mods and now I am so sad. Im lost. I cleaned em both real good and they still do it. My battery does NOT get warm though even just the switch is like fire. Did I get bum clones that just wore out after two weeks of non constant use? Thinking about buying the authentic but I can get like 6-10 clones for that price and ALL my other (Praxis, 49, Stingray X, Nemi) clones work great as did these guys until a few days ago. What gives guys?

There isn't anything to "wear out" on the SMPL.
I would guess that there's still an uncleaned part of the switch or corroded spring that's causing the issue.

A hot button occurs when there is some resistance in the switch.

So what do I do. I have cleaned the switches numerous times. At .3 ohm it still gets pretty hot. Its less then before since I cleaned them for the third time and swapped the buttons between the two but its still not like it was when I first got it.
