I'm running errands today, not much time.

Fran, you should be able to right-click on the desktop and select "screen resolution" and maybe change the size of displayed stuff. If that doesn't work, you can try "personalize" and then "Display" and play with the font settings if only the text is big.

The settings are where they should be. Talked to 2 techs who agree my graphics card is gone.

so now they're saying it's your graphics card and network card? :?: this system is only 2 yrs old - i just don't see it! and a bad graphics card would mess up your display not show large fonts

Well, it could be power supply or power outages/spikes or bad mobo frying stuff. But wow.

IDK "what's a good computer" anymore. Here, you do some reading. They have reviews of systems in different price ranges.

I trust Tom's. The people above are OK too. Now, these are gaming desktops, so they have more graphics clout and processor than you probably need (so extra $$$):
