It specifically says "dry dead leaves".

I have WET non-crinkly leaves. And they will remain wet through the winter... snow and all, ya know.

When snow covers them during the winter, it promotes "snow mold" which WILL kill lawns (or affected spots).

That article is FAR from nation-wide good advice.

One bit of good news... the wind today is FINALLY FINALLY blowing in a cooperative direction. And there is a LOT of wind. Using the (repaired) AC leaf blower, I'm simply aiming them "with" the wind... which is carrying them INTO the roadway and DOWN the street. Anything that gets caught in the NE hedgerow will then be neatly raked. Then, I am done.
