OK Bear,
-- not a vet, but ---
He should at least be .......
If he's not, and hasn't for a couple days...he's dehydrated and/or in kidney failure. Or he's ...... on your rug.
In any event, get him some water now if you think he's dehydrated. Or maybe just get him to a vet.

he was at the vet just yesterday? let's hope they would have diagnosed anything that serious :(

Well, OK. But only if they discussed it.
Anyway, there's OTHER things that can happen...like urinary track plugged. If so, giving him more water is BAD, as it could burst his bladder. (Was that you that had a cat go through that?)

And who knows what else. Let's just hope the kitty pees.....

The vet yesterday gave him an IV of fluids. I gave him a little water with the pill (a couple eyedroppers) and
he licked up all the tuna water. He also has a bowl of water nearby (which moves when he moves). But I
have no idea what he did during the night (re: litter box) or what he does when I'm outdoors.

His struggle APPEARS to be in the mouth/throat area. He coughs/hacks like he WANTS to bring something up, but it's
not productive.

Bloodwork should show indicators of organ problems (liver, kidney).

That hot shower took care of that. On the menu today is jumbo lump crab cakes with just enough binder to hold them together, cheese grits, and salad. For my viewing pleasure:D, i'll be watching the Nascar race at Talladega--one of my favorite tracks. Have a good one, you old people.:)

Kid status:
Pureed tuna got his attention. He licked out all the liquid (getting some tuna in the process),
so I added a few more tablespoons of water, which he lapped up. So... that's good.

If he's still in distress tomorrow morning, he's going back for xrays or a throat probe. His
problem appears to me - a non-vet - to be mouth/throat. MAYBE an absessed tooth? MAYBE
he swallowed some bug (like a bee, or one of these) and it's stuck in there or stung/bit?

Re: the link... those things have become a county-wide problem over the last year. Friends,
my Dad, and we have had them in the house even through the Winter. But I'd think a cat
might be repelled and not actually eat one.

Stink bugs smell up Rochester homes

Fingers crossed, Bear.

Meanwhile, I just got back from walking the grandpup and it is sunny and beautiful. Supposed to get up to 80 today. Might be the perfect excuse for me to try out my new A/C. :D

Frack. $%^&*(!
Overdrew checking by 20 cents. Grrrrr. Wonder if they'll overdraft charge me. Got to go make a deposit to see if it covers it. Probably not since it was posted Friday. But there's a weekend. IDK. Last I knew it was a 35.00 over draft charge or some such. It may have changed for small amounts like that. Been a long time since I've done that.

^^^^ And the worst part is it's all because I FORGOT MY E-CIG when I was taking mom on errands. So I stopped off and bought a box of nic gum (smallest one I could find). That stuff is WAY too expensive, even for the store-brand lozenges and gums and such. Wow. But I was out of "spares" that I keep in the car for when I have a hardware failure, or forget it, or can't vape some place.

Grrrrr. Stupid nic addiction.

I think there's new regs for small amounts like that. IDK. Been a while. Let's see:
There is no per item overdraft fee when your account is overdrawn by $5.00 or less at the end of our business day.
But there may be a 25 or 35/37 dollar one time fee (just not multiple per item fees.) IDK. Grrr. We'll see how it goes.
