great news for puggers, kat!

and i take that to mean it was not a complete tear? no harm done trying this first and there's a good chance surgery can be avoided!
The vet is pretty convinced it IS a complete tear. But the surgery is done to stabilize the 2 bones and allow scar tissue to take the place of the ligament. The same thing can be done with an external stabilizer that will go over her back, under her chest, and the main part, of course around her knee. This, too, can allow scar tissue to grow. At least, that's the plan. She goes Thurs to get measured and they will do a laser treatment. The brace should be in by Monday and it's gonna be a pain to put on, but it can stay on. Or it can be removed at night or for an hour a day. So, at least it won't have to go on and off all day. The
supplements can then take over for the anti inflammatory meds and will be easier on her system. Always the possibility that she would still need surgery, but I've read MANY, MANY stories of dogs who completely recovered this way. Especially older dogs and more sedentary dogs, of which Puggers is both!!!
And on that novelette, I say good night to you all and thank you again for all the thoughts and prayers.
May you all be safe and sound and sweet dreams!!
