I have a tape that Mom made before she passed, and I got through the first few words and couldn't go any further.....I know.....I know.They'll remember you even more fondly for generations if you write them down in a "book"... or index cards. Or RECORD them.
(I only say this because my Mom only has SOME of Grandma's recipes...she knows them best. Her older sister has Alzheimer's so she doesn't remember anymore. Mom is forgetting too...but she has some written down. I think I've posted GrandMa's depression-era spaghetti dish. My GrandPa's pickled herring recipe is probably lost forever.)
Then we have another tape of our son when he was 12 having a phone conversation with a radio star way back when, and it is so funny to listen to his cracked voice, so we do honor written and vocal memories.
