Yeah, that's why I said "she might have something" because I remember we've discussed this before, but I didn't bother to retain the details because...well...it could change.

Glad you got your power back, morning Tibs. :)

@oldbikeguy - nm. I guess there's an "interlock kit" that does what I was going to ask about.

yup! back in february i ran out and got the last little generator at tsc. mostly to make sure i had something to keep the heater going for the fish tank!

Tibs before you store it make sure you run the gas out of the carb and fill the tank with fresh gas that's been stabilized :)

    Good morning in here.
We really should get a little generator for here one of these years...
I have a propane grill with burners so I am good for cooking stuff...but nothing to keep things cold (or to run even a fan)

    Morning AG and Classy.

Yeah, classy. But you don't freeze. It's mostly the freezer stuff for you. I guess the heat can be hard on the infirmed and elderly.

The thing is...up north...people freeze to death or have their pipes freeze or whatever. Many people don't have fireplaces and wood anymore.

If you get 4 feet of snow so you can't get out, and no power to heat stuff, and you don't have a fireplace, it sucks big time.

However, statistically, it may be that heat kills more than cold. IDK.

I will never again live in a place that gets a hard winter.

morning, classy and obg! ;) i think i got everyone else before :?:

obg, how do i get the gas out of the carburetor? i'm not refilling the tank atm - i always have fresh gas here in the summer - need it for the lawn mower which has sprung an oil leak
You run it until it dies...that's the easiest. Make sure it has the valve in "off" position if there is one, or drain the tank completely. Sometimes there's a little button on the bottom of a float that you can press to drain any leftovers from the carburetor bowl.
