Good evening all, glad to see everyone vaccinated and only minor side affects! So far anyway. Hope Classy made it through the storms, and everyone else too for that matter. My step mom developed Bell’s palsy after first dose of vaccine, maybe vaccine related, maybe not. Before retiring she was an infectious disease specialist, and dad was with FDA testing drugs, I guess they’re pretty well educated on the process and risk anyway...

So sorry to hear that. How awful. How is she doing now? Better, I hope.

Night, Snails!

FDA: Track Vaccine Recipients for Facial Paralysis
“It’s a relatively benign condition,” Anthony Geraci, MD, the director of neuromuscular medicine at Northwell Health in New York, told USA Today.

Geraci sees at least two patients per month with Bell’s palsy, and they tend to recover in several weeks, he said. Severe or permanent conditions are extremely rare, he added, and encouraged people to not let the report prevent them from getting a COVID-19 vaccine.

Good morning MM, Fran.

Are you fully immunized yet, Fran? (I know the answer, that's a rhetorical).

You'll have to decide...risk vs reward. See Tib's article in the CV-19 thread in the OUTSIDE....
The vaccines are about 94% effective in preventing severe outcomes in CV-19 for those that are fully vaccinated, however many of the severe outcomes are in the elderly (who have weaker immune systems than their kids do).

How much do you really like candles? ;)
But you can't live as a hermit either, and it's all a function of exposure rates (and mutations).

Love ya.

Well, with a sheepish grin on my face, good morning to you all!

During Lent I got myself into other habits that had little or nothing to do with computer socializing, and those habits stuck. You know, the 3 week rule!
It was a sacrifice in the beginning to stay away, but after awhile, it became routine.

Well, anyway, I'm back and Trauti, thank you!!
