Rather weird.Our azaleas were a few weeks ahead of yours, they're done now and it's time to trim the plants.
I guess this thread is as good as any for me to share a freak black-eyed Susan growing in my yard.
It's growing on the same plant with normal blossoms. I've never seen anything like this before.

Even the stem for this bizzaro flower is bizarre, flattened like a ribbon cable. Compare to the normal stem and blossom below it.
