Planning on watching Artemis I take off (or get delayed again) this afternoon. 2:15 ish EDT. This is the start of "We the People" (NASA and contractors) going back to the moon, with a moon base this time. It is an uncrewed mission, testing out the rocke and capsule.
Fun fact: The mission that went to the moon back in the 1960's was named Apollo. Artemis is Apollo's twin sister in Greek mythology. The Artemis mission is more science based, and also will have the first woman on the moon, and people of color. A naturally more diverse, and more long term type of thing while we establish a moon base. Getting Space 1999 vibes. lol
