Taxes done. Grrrr. Paid 166-ish bucks for the pleasure of software (due to a form I have to file, can't use free version). But it is done.
Owed some money to the feds, got back money from the state, and owed 2 bucks to local non-resident work tax ...grrr. But I net out ahead.

I did my taxes about a month ago, got nearly $500 back from fed, no state income tax here. Last year I got nearly $1000 back, so I did better this year in regards to giving the feds my money interest free, but I need to do better still.

Yeah, particularly in years that have the high inflation like we've had....better to spend it now unless you're getting 10% on it. I have a savings account that makes bubkis. It's dumb, but I need some cash reserves. I'm tempted to do a CD, but I don't like locking all cash up.

Yup, it's gone. I could have cloned it before it crashed--but I was too bz with just getting back into the country after 2.5 months. Like I said, all of the stuff I care about I have saved on my laptop or the cloud
It's going to be interesting how long this takes getting my computer up and running after putting in the new ssd hard drive. I don't have a bootable hard drive, so I guess I'll have to download windows and all the other stuff to the ssd. This is new territory that's going to involve a learning curve.
Maybe i should have saved that bottle of wine I had last night for today?
