I think my computer monitor is going. I had never seen this until I hooked my laptop to my pc monitor yesterday. Now, I just put my pc back together to see if it would work--and it is, but it's showing these lines too on the monitor. Dang, when it rains it pours.

Oy, Pepper. For me my tailgate wiring was messing up and the car signaled "gate" is open...but it wasn't. So I took the internal panel off and messed with every connector and wire and movable thing I could, and it quit for now. IDK if it will remain quit, of course. So 7 pm today I'm doing unexpected car troubleshooting, instead of doing dishes.

As for your monitor, If that's not a problem with the compressed background image, and it appears on multiple computers and with various windows open, you're screwed. Not worth repairing unless it has warranty, IMO. Please recycle responsibly.
